Wouldn't this be simply Goku going from side to side so fast he dodged the bullets? Specially when in the same scene he left the afterimage to hit one of them.

If it's just an afterimage then it doesn't make sense for his expression to change.

This case is different. Goku created multiple afterimages therefore he can make an expression for each one. And the time when Goku kicks Caulifa, it washes an afterimage because, well, Caulifa got kicked.
