Its been confirmed that fused aliens are weaker than their full forms, a lot of people would ask "Then why did Ben use a weaker alien to fight a big threat." We know that Alien X still has to talk with his other personalities for some things (he's just better at controlling alien x by himself). In reality it makes sense for Ben 10k to use a mix of his two most powerful aliens especially when he had a split second decision (alien x could not possibly react fast enough due to his other personalities) and we've only seen him use fusions anyway. Also from from the point of a writer, it makes no sense to have him just fix the problem and save the day in the end. (by the way if Atomic X was on the same levels of strength as Alien X even though he only has a portion of his dna then Ben 10k would solo everyone in that fight and it end then and there.)
