I think luffys dream is to abolish the WG in return he gives everyone freedom.
Now this is a theory. So we already know luffy has his fair share with the WG, raiding all 3 headquaters, asking for war and quite literally fighting in the war of his brother's allies.
Luffy said how he wanted to become the pirate king to have the most freedom. But as we know he met people who experienced such pain that turned them into antagonist's some of those being katukuri and doflamingo. Doflamingo became evil because of all that pain he expirenced just for being the son of a celestial dragon and katukuri had absolutely no freedom to the point where he quite literally where he was unable to sleep on his back since he was seen as a superhuman. He even had to scarf up his face because people would make fun of him and when he beat them up they targeted his younger sister aka brulee.
Now here are some statements of the strawhats talking about how luffy's dream seems impossible.
Luffy also mentioned how when he told ace, shanks and sabo abount it they laughed. Now luffy was a kid who already knew how cruel was the world so it would make sense how he wants to give everyone freedom. Him being the pirate king is most likely to become the most freest person to the point where he is completly wanted by the world gov and where they plan war against him. To where luffy and his crew will abolish the WG in the process of destroying the red line.
Luffy becoming pirate king will not only make him know everything about the void century. Him going to laughtale might actually make his df stronger since I believe that joyboy was the previous owner of the df. And in process so imu and other devil fruit users who aren't the users of the hito hito no mi model nika not able to go on laughtale. But luffy would most likely be immune to it since gear 5 makes him laugh alot and we know it can alter other people.
But luffy becoming the pirate king, will make him a natural threat who needs to be eliminated, in process once he destroys the WG he can fix the whole world. He also mentioned something about wanting to make a place where his friends can eat however they want. So it's possible that luffy would alter the entire world and make it a place of joy and laughter by taking down the WG or luffy destroying the WG will give complete freedom to all nations.
