A buddy of mine keeps saying the very concept of dimensional tearing is stupid and should never be used can you please help me explain to him why that's not true?

Reality-fiction interaction is of course a ridiculous debate...from a versus battle standpoint. Explaining why a drawing of a man with a gun, or destroying a 2 dimensional Universe can never harm you or you tearing a paper any character is drawn on, and relating that to the dimensions an entity exists being destroyed by a higher dimensional entity is probably the easiest method to explain this to one who is unfamiliar with such concepts.
