Ehh.. about shield crystals they are confusing as you can generally summon them trough specific charm, or find them on the map, since location is fontaine and not avalice lilac cannot find any shield crystal and she only has acces trough healing strike so nope.
But Guarding and Dragon boost which she can spam can help A LOT against neuvi, plus the insane combat skill she has along with acrobatics

Well nothing says they are physically incorporeal, but its good to note they resist soul memory and elemental manip so theres that
