How much energy is this?

How much energy is it that a character can punch through someone who is wearing iron armor with his bare hands?

Example

It would be better if you could give me a specific number.

A fist has a surface area of 25cm^2
Apparently armor would be 12-14 GA, or 1.897-2.656 (average 2.2765) mm thick.
So two layers of that with a 25cm^2 surface area would be 11.3825cc of iron.
Iron fragmentation is 20J/cc, so destroying the armor is 227.65J
If we assume the front to back thickness of the person is around 10cm, the volume of human body destroyed would be 250cc.
That would require an energy of 1100 Joules.
Total energy would be 1327.65J
If you’re interested, steel armor would be around 3kJ, and using modern stainless steel would be around 4.5kJ
