^^^;

While I do follow the vandalism and RVR threads, I wanna know more if there are anything else about the effectiveness of staff here keeping things a safe place.

(why am I relevant to conversations regarding doxing)

I'm not sure I understand the question, but then it is in regards to a complicated issue. We can't control what people do, so we can't prevent someone preemptively from doxing another user if they have the ability to do so (that is, access to sensitive information regarding that user). Historically, the site has treated doxing as one of the most devastating offenses, and we have come down on it with bans in every instance that comes to mind- we punish it severely. For our part, any staff related matter can be handled with anonymity, so reports, pieces of information, etc are often scrubbed of identifying information. This is also the purpose of the private RVR section, where users can file reports privately, which are only viewable by the reporting user and administrators/bureaucrats.

Harassment is another difficult issue because what constitutes harassment is malleable, and has a great deal to do with intent and mechanical outcome. Again, we aren't precognitive, so we can do little to prevent it before it occurs, however we also are extremely punitive when it does verifiably happen. Warnings are most frequently skipped, and bans are handed out in cases of genuine harassment. It bears mentioning that proving harassment is often difficult for users, and we cannot act without valid proof- if you feel you are being harassed, then you should be diligent in providing the evidence to that claim, so that we can help you.

Defamation is met with a lighter touch in most cases. Saying mean things is unpleasant and certainly against the rules, but in of itself can frequently be met only with warnings rather than immediate bans. If it is done by a large number of people, it is frequently our policy to lock down the respective thread, or at least prevent those bad actors from cooperating in their trolling (this is why the old slander threads were locked, and the practice of making them banned). If it is pursued by a smaller group of people (or even one person), over a greater period of time, then we get into the territory of harassment again, which, see above.
