There has to be a way to look up a specific thread without having to go to the character's profile page and searching under all their posts.

I think you go to their page and see the discussions on the bottom of their page.

Yes, the glitch is a major problem for the functionality of the wiki. I have informed the official Fandom staff about it a few times, and the last time I did so, a few months ago, they told me that they would ask their technical team to do something about the problem, but that they are very busy.
