I would defend Gil here, but I am going to assume that this guy is joking since his rocking a Hakuno pfp and is familiar with all the changes Gil’s character went through since his original VA.

I am going to make a prediction that this new Grail war will be a CCC bootleg. It’s crazy enough that Gil wants to hide the MC in his vault but at the same time acknowledges that their journey is not over.
Normally Gil would have just strored away anything that he deems worthy of his vault (blame his arrogance and divinity for that) instantly. But those are for objects, here he wants to store a human smth that can only happens if he finds you extremely worthy of his attention and/or sees you in the same light as he saw Enkidu or SERPH’s master and in which case his behavior shifts from possession to continuation.
Gil due to his nature understands the value of everything as he possesses everything and more. Gil is obsessed with things beyond ownership because his omnipossessive nature leaves him existentially bored. Saber in Avalon becomes meaningful precisely because she escapes his reach. He doesn’t love her conventionally; he values the challenge to his authority and the contradiction she represents. Something beyond the King’s grasp acquires rarity. If she does accept Gil’s proposal than he would win it’s kinda like a game these two are playing. it is Gil’s recognition of value. But humans almost never qualify in the same category as treasures unless they transcend mere individuality in his eyes. Enkidu qualifies because he was Gil’s equal and counterpart. Hakuno qualifies because they represented humanity’s stubborn will to continue. So if this new MC is being framed similarly. This shows just how much Gil values the trailblazer, enough to put him alongside his friend Enkidu.
The Trailblaze is fundamentally about movement, continuation, and an endless journey forward. Gil cannot “finish” it because it inherently resists stagnation and ownership. So instead of ending the MC’s journey, he acknowledges its necessity.
With Hakuno in Fate/EXTRA CCC, Gil’s interest wasn’t based on beauty, royalty, or utility. It was based on perseverance. Hakuno was fundamentally insignificant by heroic standards, yet kept advancing through impossible circumstances. That’s the exact type of humanity Gil respects because it reflects something he lacks: a being that creates value through struggle rather than inherent superiority. That is why he would fw the Trailblaze as whole (which is why he will wait for the MC to finish his trailblaze).
Overall I think this event will be a summarized version of CCC, we even have Rin here.
This Gil probly got jealous of his CCC counterpart which took Hakuno to another planet (cuz she was gonna be EE on the moon) and continued their journey from there on and wanted his own version of it

Also the isekai is very CCC coded, BB banished Gil to the far side of the moon cuz he was too strong and uncontrollable. Ishtar probly tried the same and got mad that she couldn’t which prompted her to banish him
