Help a 10-C Garden Snail become the Immortal Snail

Also, how about a rule where God Gary can give 5 abilites separate from what Gary would inherit from previous tier? And from tier 9 onward, every Gary have immortality type 8 reliance on God Gary that is their true form but is only applicaple 3 times per match so if we can't see Gary win even after 3 chance, it's a lost.

Like it sound pretty pointless having a God key if all it does is be a block of P&A, might as well use it for something helpful.

10-B can only be used while we are still in tier 10 (I also found several interesting 10-Bs)

Idk, with Gary's speed and range that guy can't kill him. That gives us enough time to social influence him into submission. (or maybe defeat him by some other means)

Oh, the thing is that Gary can fight against characters of his tier and one tier above, meaning that we can fight against 10-B right now, but only when we go up to 10-B will we be able to fight against 10-A.
The snail is not allowed to jump more than a single tier in durability or attack potency with any of its wins. Gary can challenge anyone from its tier or the next tier, but if he progresses to an above tier, he can no longer fight those who are below him in tier. To incentivize that Gary keep fighting and accumulating abilities from his present tier, he cannot fight characters more than one tier above him to skip, and if he gains a full tier upgrade (in AP and Dura specifically), then he is moved to that tier.
  • For example, Gary is 10-C right now so can only challenge those from 10-C and 10-B, if he gains a 10-B rating in both AP and Durability, he moves on to challenging 10-B and 10-A with 10-C now being closed off to him
  • Likewise, if Gary fights a character with a key higher than his AP and Dura, he can only inherit it if it's within the allowed tiers.

Now we only need to get to Jigoraku to get Tao, then God Gary will finally be looking like a god (even if his tier is questionable).

This is basically the 10-B Human thread, but I've upped the difficulty.

Some rules below:
  • The snail's name is Gary
  • Users must submit a character that the snail must fight and win against (at least high-diff, no incon allowed)
  • If Gary wins, the user must choose one ability to inherit, so it can only be one out of AP, Equipment, Durability, Speed, Resistance, and Ability, meaning the user only gets the benefit of choosing one from the defeated character, making the process much slower than before.
    • The same rule applies from the previous thread once we reach more complex abilities, the ability need not be a single ability as defined by VsBattles but can simply be a group of abilities bunched together for a specific purpose. This does mean that Gary cannot inherit physiologies or X Manipulation from a verse, but he can inherit a specific aspect of these that serves a specific function. However, the above rules still applies and these must be chosen at the expense of other potential abilities obviously.
    • Gary must have a reasonable way of using equipment, otherwise they cannot be added , given his obvious limitations of being a snail. This can include telekinesis or some sort of adaptation that gives him arms (as well as the appropriate lifting strength to hold them)

I will give a grace period of a few days to a week for people to review the rules and give me suggestions before moving on, so we can make this more interesting and longer lasting than the previous thread. I will also consider other suggestions as to make sure we're not caught in a stagnation of trying to find characters to make us stronger.


I disagree with the Idea of us getting 5 more abilities from God Gary, as that means that we could get 10 abilities in total and five of those could be Immeasurable speed and AE1, which would make this way too easy.

Yeah i agree, just scrap that, still want opinion on the immortality type 8 tho.

Btw for moving a tier above and choosing abilities, let's nominate abilities to bring with us and then vote on them
 
How about, instead of taking abilities, why don't we have Gary keep the abilities he had from the start, you know? The abilities a Snail has.

Like, if we let Gary go into a tier but have abilities that will let him win no matter what, then I don't think this will much of a challenge.

This is actually a cool idea but I still think Gary has a strong chance of getting gatekept as he goes up further, so how about this:
Gary gets a random pool of three abilities.

We get the number of abilities he currently has now and then we roll the die three times to see what he can bring with him. I'll wait for the rest of the folks to say what they think, and if they're good I'll start counting abilities and then stick around for the dice roll.

Dummy Check (視覚阻害 (ダミーチェック) Shikaku Sogai (Damī Chekku), lit. "Visual Inhibition"): The ability that allows the user to lessen their presence from other people. At higher levels a user can seemingly become invisible to a person even if people are looking straight at them. It doesn't work in secondary sources like mirrors or cameras.

And in case 10-A character will ever be allowed to be added I would say Sabrina Sepllman's Time Stop:
Time Stop (Manual time stop and time also automaticlly stops if she feels endangered)
 
Funny enough the dice method kinda does encourage staying in a tier and accumulating abilities because it improves our chances for the next tier, but also makes sure we're not accumulating trash ones. This is some good learning experience to take away for the next time I do this.

Three random ones sounds good. Keeping things like the passive madness would have made it way too easy.
