Because only 3 and 4 were confirmed. It's just now that it was confirmed that there would only be 5 seasons.

The show was only previously greenlit for 4 seasons, which was only announced a while before season 2's release. Don't recall anything regarding season 5 till now.

We always knew there were 5 seasons planned however Season 5 was effectively meant to be the victory lap season. When we were told about it, there were no confirmations that it could be guaranteed with Season 4 seemingly being meant to resolve the actual main plotline (From what we can gather, the Lute problem).

Season 4 is final boss territory, season 5 is the post-game content
