Been wanting to make a match with the entomber for a while now, I always found its abilities to be quite unique though I do need someone with at least some form of teleportation in order to do this (I'm pretty sure Rain's teleport can works since on account of, well... groundwater being a thing

Okay there are currently three 9-A calcs for Mortal Combat, no idea which Rain scales to.
Assuming we just the highest he is 0.037 tons strong while Entomber is 0.13, so Entomber had the edge by x3.51351351351
There are literally no calcs for LS so assuming baseline Class 5 making so the Entomber has over an x2 difference

Rain is more mobile and skilled, but the Entomber is expected to take on 4 people relative to it in stats which would include monks and wizards, so Rain isn't really bringing anything that should be way out there for it.

I'll vote Entomber due to a large stat edge all around, and its undead nature making so Rain needs to deal a lot of damage before it goes down, which due to the stat difference is hard

Actually in the the big list of D&D resistances, transmutation should be one of the things Entomber resists
Rain's nature as a Mortal Kombat character gives him a brutal fighting style that usually leaves opponents heavily disfigured, this should aid him in getting past the Entomber's undead nature.
I mean, wouldn't it be in reverse where being undead actually helps Entomber keep up with Rain's brutality?

In-game they're only used as finishers but Rain can technically perform fatalities whenever he wants.
I think this also applies to the story mode as well. I mean, I don't think Rain has gotten any kills in the story, right?

Fair, although he'd probably go for one if he's put on the back foot or once he realizes that Entomber won't go down to normal blows cause of his undead immo.
Eh, I'm unsure. I mean, don't Mortal Kombat characters have some pretty crazy stamina?

Yeah, but Entomber does have a slight AP advantage which can help wear out Rain and Rain is still likely to use his more lethal water techniques when he notices Entomber's undead nature regardless of whether he's leading in the fight or not.

Also wouldn't that AP advantage help against those brutal techniques? I still think it's more of an equalizing factor than anything

The AP difference is very small and doesn't prevent Rain from turning Entomber into a water balloon.

I think I'm gonna lock in my vote for Rain. His skill advantage, acrobatics, brutal fighting style, and range and versatility with water manipulation should be enough to win over Entomber more often than not in my eyes.
