It was recently brought to my attention that our Green Lantern pages aren't the best. Aside from Hal and possibly Alan Scott being semi-composited, we don't list their powers in a proper way. Green Lantern powers and statistics come from their Power Rings and Lanterns, and therefore, most GL members can potentially perform the same powers, just to varying degrees of effectiveness. There is no strict power set, as Jordan himself put it, you become your imagination. Because of this looseness in how their powers are handled, I believe we should make a page for their Power Ring and list all shown powers and abilities there, similarly verse-specific powers.

A sandbox I made to compile said powers. I'm also looking for feats, but that's of a lower priority for now. Current priority is Post-Crisis, but Pre-Crisis, and Post-Flashpoint stuff is wanted too, but to a lesser extent. All help is welcomed, but let's all try to cite our sources to the best of our abilities. Same with other colored corps, it's nice to compile their stuff as well, but our top priority is fixing up the Green Lanterns themselves.

Thanks to everyone who helps out!

I am surprised they don't all already have that.

I think we can just add extreme temperatures because I think I have seen a panel of them standing lava and whatnot. Tho I gotta look for it.

Or is cold resistance different than extreme temperatures?
Yeah it goes both ways. Lanterns can fly pretty close to stars (warning: gorey) and the aforementioned nuke feat would mean Hal was unfazed by the intense heat of said bomb.

A day 1 Lantern has a MFTL+ feat, though that might be the ring guiding him rather then his own skill. Also noteworthy is in the story, a dying lantern (Laham) was able to send his consciousness through space to find a replacement, so a good astral projection showing.

Also Breeon mentions rings can reverse time, but they don't because of rules.
Both stuff from Green Lantern Quarterly Vol 1 2.

I am thinking illusion creation.

Also, Subjective reality? Really? I have never noticed it myself. Hope they provide some scans because that would make quite a bit of sense for lantners.

About this
Considered the most powerful weapon every conceived by Superman
I think it should be specified which version of Superman said and which year. (I kinda can't tell because of the art 😅).

I say this because Superman has seen some insane weapons in post crisis, eg; miracle machine in final crisis. So it wouldn't confuse some people.

Fair enough. Everything aside from the Tomar-Re speed feat is Post-Crisis. That statement in particular is derived from The Last Will and Testament of Hal Jordan.

As I've said before, before someone brings it up, I don't think John Stewart's solar system feat should be treated as 4-B, or as a cap, as the capabilities being exceeded was more likely due to the size and complexity of what he was creating, and creating planets and a star isn't 4-B anyway.

Aren't the rings also called extra-dimentional weapons also twice infact.
By hal jordan and lex luthor

Extra dimensional can mean anything, aside from getting a higher tier without proper context.

Additionally, extra dimensional is often used as flowery language. Can you provide the scans and context so we can analyse what it means here?

I would hit I wouldn't wanna stress myself looking for the books I saw it so just ignore my chat.

Agreed. Density of said star would be different then a rea star anyway so it'd have to be calced. In general I feel like we should look for destructive feats to scale them to, though, since they'd be more reliable.

Not super useful, but I found a pretty neat FTL+ reaction/movement feat for Hal earlier/resistance to Time Manip (moving about freely after slowing down the passage of time to picoseconds)

Legends of the DC Universe Vol 1 28-29. Some of neat stuff.
Notably, this probably downgrades Alan Scott's 4-B statement to 4-C as it's destroying each body individually.

I believe Alan should be more powerful than a standard ring because the nature of his power, so I don't think we should downgrade his 4B statement.

Alan apparently has better peak feats anyway. I mostly meant it in a way to subject more justification towards 4-B Superman and co.

I come back, bearing calcs

Alright, will look through that on Sunday when I am off.

Although the one I found is where he turns an entire city alongside himself completely invisible.

The first one is definitely healing imo

The second one would fall under durability/unconventional resistance to Anti Matter imo

Green Lantern Corps Vol 1 3, Ub'x is dying/fading from existence as a residual result of The Crisis and Ch'p restores him with his Power Ring. Ub'x staff works like a Power Ring itself and kept him alive through The Crisis via willpower, and his willpower began to fade when he realized how lonely he was.

Any idea what kind of power this is for Ch'p? Life Manipulation? Healing? Negation?
the first is healing and the sencods seems is Acuasuality (type 1) or resistance to anti-matter

Some stuff so I don't forget -
  • Dream Manipulation? (Green Lantern Corps Vol 1 211) The Power Rings also seem to help sober them up after Gardner spiked their drinks, is that poison resistance?
  • Age Manipulation (Green Lantern Corps Vol 1 206)
  • Can't find it now but I think Sojourner Mullein (a Post-Rebirth Lantern) has a pretty blatant NPI feat where she trades blows wit beings of pure data.
  • Black Hand with GL energy absorbed creates an earthquake, can we use that to give teh GL Earth Manipulation? Will post scans bt I gotta go for now.

This seems to be a good idea to me. Thank you very much for helping out.
