Why is it not as impressive in practice as he calculated?There seems to be skepticism about the calculation; that math is good on paper, but in execution it may not be as impressive as what it calculated. And runs into a lot of the same issues as many door breaking related feats in the first place.
That's simply not the case here. The door got completely warped through the process of getting ripped off the hinges. It's nonsense, but it happened on panel. We shouldn't just dismiss the feat because it shouldn't have, that would pretty much downgrade almost all our calcs.Normally, feats like this are at best breaking the door off the hinges and merely just flipping the weight of the door over; which Class M seems outrageously exaggerated for what appears to be a basic ripping off a door feat.
I'd rather not get into whataboutism territory, but the "Almost all our calcs" either have back up reasons, or are actually lowballed, or are a different calculation category that can't be compared to this. And can't really compare minimal energy required for destruction levels to a torque based lifting calculation for example. Almost all feats can't really happen "logically", because a myriad other factors exist. Before you'd rip off the spine, for example, you would completely shatter the bones. We wouldn't then dismiss the feat of ripping off a spine, would we? That's introducing a lot of assumptions that aren't really suggested. I prefer we take it as exactly shown. He wrecked a door trying to take it off its hinges.But anyway, I'm not dismissing the feat in general and saw the scans in the blog and the math is at least pretty done well. But other points to take into account, and a common issue for LS specific calculations in general is whether or not momentum was involved. Did he just "gently" rip the door but happened to wreck it up through casual G force?
