they don't have prior knowledge of each other, so he wont know about changing his skin or not, Nor does the IW know about him either. the player is just in his normal skin.

he can change his weapons, skin and other things in the Armory whenever he wants to (Which is not game mechanics, as he can do so in the Campaign mode and is clearly shown to use all of the guns that he obtains in the Campaign mode's comics)
