It is in said in the Rules above: for the match that he has already seen Smile Dog, basically meaning he is already able to be effected.
 
I am no certain. Also 1 vote for the Dogo.

It may have something to do with being remembered, similar to the movie version iirc. Haven't watched ANOES for an long time and I haven't played DbD for a while.
 
I don't know if The Nightmare follows the same rules as the OG Freddy Krueger, but Freddy's Type 8 came from the fact that as long as people came to fear him in the real world, he would never disappear. So, take that with what you want.

However, between the two Type 8's, as well as the behaviors of the two entities, I'm gonna side with Smile Dog for the time being due to his being much more lasting than The Nightmare's, and is able to emerge from the shadows faster and easier. That, and Smile Dog might actually make The Nightmare go insane, so there's that too.
