I don't see why it can't be both ki and ectoplasm. And souls can just be made of ki as well. They're still stated to be ghosts. Ki is also spiritual energy

I think "ectoplasm-shaped" here means its shaped from ectoplasm. Because if it was talking about "the shape of ectoplasm", it wouldn't make sense since ectoplasm doesn't have a "shape". Does anyone know where to find these raw scans? Would be good if we had a better translation
