This topic is based on the "Episode Summary" on Kanzenshuu where it happened in episodes 10 to 14 of the DBS Anime. TOEI Animation used 3 to 4 different words to indicate the places where Goku and Beerus fought during the episode.
For the first one, in episode 10 TOEI Animation uses the word "sky" which is the place where Goku and Beerus first fought, which happened after Beerus hit Goku so hard that he fell into the ocean, then Goku returned with a condition that had started to get used to Super Saiyan God.
For the second, in episode 11 TOEI Animation uses the word "stratosphere" which is where both Goku and Beerus fight.
This happens when Beerus headbutts Goku to the stratosphere.
Then the third, in episode 12 TOEI Animation uses the word "space" where this is the third place Goku and Beerus fight. Where this happened because Bulma and her friends followed Goku and Beerus, on the other side Bulma's plane was damaged because of the scorching air effect because of Goku and Beerus' power which then made Goku and Beerus feel disturbed, then Goku and Beerus went to another place that was getting higher up.
Then in episode 13 it is also said that their fight took place in “space”, their beams produced a gigantic explosion that made Beerus intervene to nullified all the energy that existed.
Additionally, episode 14 also mentions their fight transitioning from “space” back to the “ocean”.
And finally after a long time TOEI Animation mentions space, the place shifts to the “atmosphere” where Goku experiences defeat and falls through it.
Note: “Space” is not part of the atmosphere but the “stratosphere” is one part of the atmosphere.
Based on the explanation above we do not know whether Goku is really able to breathe in space, but we have the statement that Goku is able to survive there so Goku will get Limited Space Survival followed by several abilities that he must get through the page with some justification:

Then Goku's chest is stabbed by Beerus which makes Goku dying but Goku managed to heal the hole in his chest and enthusiastically returns to the “stratosphere”.

The battle took place in “space” where Goku and Beerus projected a dragon through their aura.

Then Goku pushes Beerus back into "space", making their fight back into space.

- Resistance to Extreme Cold (Can survive in outer space, which is extremely cold)
- Resistance to Cosmic Radiation (Can survive in outer space, which filled with cosmic radiation)
