Thunder's matches are valid. His opponents dealt damage to him that they couldn't heal from themselves and died. Death manip wasn't the reasoning behind those matches.

For the case of drowning, the suffocation was transferred. Do note that drowning KOs you first, so the KO from the suffocation will transfer too.
