Well for Cena, he has faced Kurt Angle on a couple of occasions, and even beat the guy. Kurt Angle is this skilled, and was named the greatest shoot wrestler ever.

The bow has both speed and a very small sharp point, the sword inherently has less piercing damage, as it doesn't have the same realm of speed and has its sharp point spread out across the blade, this is why axes are generally more damaging overall than swords besides generally being more top-heavy. The same thing applies to knives and the like, even stabbing wouldn't be the beat thing as said before it lacks the realm of speed as an arrow.

i thought he was weak to piercing damage, also other wrestlers have used weapons on cena before and i’m pretty sure he doesn’t usually break them
i imagine it would be pretty easy to miss a narrow moving target that someone’s swinging at you

I explained piercing damage before. An arrow has way more piercing damage then a sword. That's why the former would do a ton and the ladder wouldn't really do much.
Ah yes, weapons, which apsolutely aren't swords and definitely don't basically scale to Cena's AP in dura.
If Cena is that close anyway eventually he's gonna land a solid enough hit to incap or kill without Gil being able to do a damn thing about it.

gil is much more skilled and has a range advantage. how much time would gil need to fire his bow? i’m thinking of changing the range again

With practice your average Archer can aim and fire a bow in about 3-5 seconds including drawing from a quiver, obviously Gil isn't average but regardless.
