General Godzilla Discussion

Even so, the GMK case is more obvious. The comic directly references the movie multiple times, so it wasn’t just based on “the writer said so”, there was clearly a connection there. Meanwhile, the Godzilla from Vs Hulk doesn’t really have anything meaningful connecting him to Showa Godzilla, and it’s not like it would add much to the profile anyway, like new abilities or anything like that.
I find this lacking as well tbh, it is very much a separate story. At most we could argue that this variant of the character scales to the tier of the Godzilla it was based on, which will be pointless.

Gonna be honest, I don't know how Outer layers even work. I can't find a page about them
it's literally just outerversal to outerversal. Guy sees reality as fiction. Another guy sees that guy as fiction. Combine that with a bit more evidence about onthological difference and voila, you've got yourself a layer.

Then what's High Outer even about because I thought that's what it was

High outer is when you see the whole heirarchy of outer > outer and see that as fiction. Basically, what Outer does to dimensions, High outer does to r>f differences. If outer is a meta-layer then high outer is meta-meta

Base High 1-A would be one meta qs, baseline 1-A is just qualitative superiority

Tier 1 for any Goji is kinda suspect imo. It makes sense for Ultima cos he’s a lovecraftian entity but any others have to use ridiculous chain scaling and incredibly liberal interpretations of guidebook statements.
Tier 1 for any character that at any point of their career struggles or exerts effort is ridiculous.
Sorry I have to Tour De Say things like that.
EDIT: Tier 1 is ridiculous

So you guys know that bit of scaling on Tiamat's profile about her killing a MUTO Prime? Apparently that's not canon despite one literally being on page as the writer on Twitter said he put it there as an Easter Egg and didn't expect anyone to actually pay attention to it.

We should go by what's shown. Even if the author calls it an Easter egg, it doesn't change the fact that it's there.

Huh, I didn't know about that scaling.

I've always felt that the MUTOs, being the hard counter that they are to Godzillas, probably aren't all that when pitted against other Titans... but that's definitely still pretty impressive considering how big and strong the Prime was (the one Goji fought anyway, who knows if Tiamat fought a weaker one).

Now that you mention it, the MUTOs are specifically evolved to counter Godzilla's species. For example, their EMPs weaken his atomic breath. That's probably why that MUTO Prime lost to Tiamat, not to mention that Tiamat always fights underwater, as shown in both Dominion and The New Empire.
