gem people regen downgrade

gems from steven universe and deoxys from pokemon have low-high regen, but that doesn't make sense , if their gem/cristal is destroyed they die,and the requisits for Low-High regen is "Able to regenerate from a puddle/drop of blood, or a small piece of your body." and the gem/cristal isn't a small part of their body. i think that High-Mid fits better these regen

Gem's regen is kinda unique: they could regen limbs (like Garnet did), but if they are pierced or cut and, possibly, cut a great portion of their body would desestabilize the body, and reduce them to their gem. They can regen from a small piece of it's body, but isn't something instantly, it will take some time, and it will remain vulnerable in the meantime.

Isn't the Gem itself actually their whole body? Their gem is basically casting a reflection which is their normal form, after that takes a critical or devestating blow they go "poof" and their Gem is the only thing left before they reform. If that Gem IS indeed shattered, they cease to exist. The Gem is not a small piece of the body. IT IS their entire body.

Guess you have a point, technically, the gem is its whole body, and they can regen it by conventional means; guess is a conception and relative thing.

I remember one character from One Punch Man with the same power, who has Low-High. Its body wasn't hard light, but the same mechanism - small thing from which everything else regenerates and destroying it kills permanently

So, maybe "High-Low in combat, Low-High over time"? Would that work?
Fastest Regenerationn, while coming with defects to the form, was done in like 10-15 seconds, pretty sure it still applies for "in combat"

How is it nitpicking when this comes straight from SU? Especially the video about "What are Gems?" (or similar title) Where Pearl states this?

For combat purposes, there isn't any difference between having a gem that's your whole body, that creates a physical form that works as what we would call a body; and having some part of an actual body (like heart or something) from which everything regenerates in common sense. It's still Low-High, it just comes with a weakness that it can be prevented by attacking this specific part. And literally every Gem page has this specified as weakness.
