Ganondorf has fought his fair share of courageous green heroes (Well this Ganon has only fought 1, and his color of choice was blue instead of green but sshhh), in an alternate timeline he conquered Hyrule and nobody was left to oppose him. The Green Lantern Corps, made aware of the planet coming under the demon kings rule and sensing the potential danger he could pose in the future if left unchecked, sent Hal to go take him down (I dunno if that's how the corps actually operates the only DC material I've ever really consumed was Batman TAS)
Speed is equalized, obviously. Post-Crisis Hal. Both start in their 5-C states but can / will go up to their 5-A states (Ganondorf will use his full power 5-A key if he enjoys the fight, and Hal can use more power to amp up to his 5-A stats to keep up).
