Frieren Durability Upgrade

The attack is still magical. Water Manipulating magic. It's not an axe being swung.
that makes no sense, the water is physical, it would crush him if he can only resist the magic part of it (literally just lifted and dropped on him), the WHOLE point of the manipulating water is to crush him with physical force/sheer mass, thats why the barriers which are made to protect from magical force get easily broken by manipulating a physical object and using it to attack instead. You are objectively wrong.

I'm pretty sure she actually does use mana in that case, there's a meme later on where she explains if she can't get pulled out she just blows them up and facetanks it.
And we know she's quick enough to use mana to amp that an attack that could decap a normal human before could react, she could protect herself from.

Mana also protects from physical attacks, they mention how it can stop warriors most of the time.

What mana DOESN'T do tho, is delete physical matter.
Mana defenses will nullify say, a magic beam on contact, but it can't nullify 500 tons of rock, it can nullify the magic portion but the mass still exists and just keeps going.
Which is why attacks that make use of corporal matter is a good counter to basic defense magic, even if it can block it, it won't get rid of the attack itself so if it's strong enough it just breaks through.

Tho she might have a 9-C dura feat due to a fall, I'll have to check.

Does it also count as 9-C that she somehow managed to get out of the jaws of 2 mimics before this scene?

The idea's just kind of contradicted later by the statement that against a warrior, mages can be more fragile than you can imagine, while defense magic can guard against the physical attacks of warriors.

It has been said that mana can be used to strengthen physicality, but it was only said in the context of demon shoguns, of which there are several who are stronger than the likes of the superhuman Eisen.

Someone has calced that I beleive
Hmmm I wonder where...
