Becoming an infernal causes you to lose your mind Adapting to the flames you become a second or third gen If you have a strong will and attachment to life to such a degree you resist losing your mind and retain your consciousness. All second and third should have a resistance to mind manip that makes them lose their minds and have minor willpower.

First generation can’t handle the combustion/control the flame so they become infernals
Second and third generation are born with the ability to control flames so they don’t suddenly become infernals.
And the reason why infernals lose their mind is due to the intense pain so they lose their reasoning.
And gradually as they get used to the flames they start to regain their minds

And most infernals are not exactly mindless, they retain strong connection to things they had or places that meant things to them while they were alive.

And your argument won’t hold as second generations and third can be turned to infernals via bugs. So the only thing they have as an advantage is due to the fact that they can control flame from birth so they can’t combust suddenly.

So this is not resistance to madness manip or mind Manipulation, but all infernals that retained their selfs would gains willpower except Burns tho, as he still himself so he is getting resistance to madness manipulation and corruption

1. resistant to corruption as you've just mentioned, at least for burns, regardless of this discussion cuz I believe its for every pyrotechnic
2. madness manipulation type 2 resistance
3. supernatural willpower
4. longevity for infernals
