Isn't the point of Grima that the only part of him the party could harm was the other Robin that became Grima
 
Yeah,the final boss was a weakpoint.Not really sure how this is relevant,though.We aren't talking about downgrading Robin.
 
Well, indoor long ranged magic is just to add a small bit of difficulty (and purely game mechanics, I doubt these castles actually have rooms that are unable to be entered just to have a mage spam bolting until he dies of old age)
 
It depends on if it's actual cloud to ground lightning, which has never been shown
 
Maybe you can get a clip of Bolting being dodged and request for it to be calced
 
Now I am wondering, how would the rules for game mechanics apply to something like this? For example, if a character is shown to dodge a beam of light/Aureola shown in-game, would there be anything that could contradict that said feat?

Alternatively, if a character can dodge aureola, it would make sense for said characters to dodge things that are moving at slower speeds than it.
 
Well, Magic is dependant on the intelligence and mental capacity of each unit.

And every weapon user can move/fight at at speed as well.

So, by those rules, it is justified that as a unit gains experience, their attacks become faster.

But lore weapons are an exception to this rule, since their feats are determined by lore.

Well, first of all, it's magical light. Second, the game runs on an RNG system whether or not the troops dodge or not, which may be impacted by the user of said tome, so it may or may not be canon that troops would be able to dodge it (it has a base 90% hit rate before being modified by the user's skill, speed, and constitution stats). For example, a particularly bad wielder might miss against a random target, while a relatively good bowman can hit the same target with a much slower projectile. If no one has actually reacted to it, I don't think it should be counted.

It's depicted like this in the manga , coming out of clouds that appeared out of nowhere, so I'm not 100% sure if we should count it as actual light.

My main issue is the fact that it hasn't been canonically used against anything except massive dragons the size of buildings, who certainly don't dodge all that well.

I'd be willing to accept calcs for Bolting (which is uncommon but it has been used against the heroes before) and Meteor (which has also been used against the heroes), I feel that scaling from Aureola (which has never been used against the heroes) is faulty.
 
We can use the calcs for bolting, and the meteor dodges. The bolting would use actual lightning speed for reference, correct?

@Reppuzan: Is the manga canon to the game? I thought the games have priority over the manga in terms of canonicity?
 
We're only using the manga for where the meteor comes from as it's never shown ingame

That's an issue, since the distance meteor appears from is never specified and thus cannot be calced to help determine an answer.

In addition, the games don't offer a specific movement distance due to the way the sprites are animated (in the Swordsmaster's case, they just tip their head to the side).
 
Well, how about we just use the fact that they dodge and call the dodging animations not what really happens
 
But, we use the animation to show the time of the dodge instead, which is consistent as they're all right before impact
 
Regarding the lighting, since the lightning itself comes from a cloud that is formed instead of it being fired straight away, there would be sufficient proof that the lightning itself is cloud-to-ground?

Perhaps the cloud being formed indoors could be just game mechanics, because the magic could be done outside as well?
 
Perhaps the indoor long ranged magic could go with what I said before, about how magic canonically doesn't attack regular defense, but magic resistance instead, perhaps buildings have no resistance, and magic can just pass through it (like how Knights have little to no resistance ingame, and the magic thing has been stated in game before)

Well, the picture I showed you before was of Aureola, the beam of light, not the lightning from Bolting.

That's true I suppose. Not sure who we would pixel scale from, given that they all of different dodging animations. Roy might be a safe bet though (he's in the picture from before).
 
I guess Bolting will scale to people who don't scale to dodging Meteor (or whatever one is faster)

Meteor setting everything but GBA to Hypersonic until Bolting I'd calced
 
Except for GBA characters since they don't exist in the same universes

It's not that simple. we need to pixel scale in order to determine how far their body moved in that specific timeframe.

Hector and Ly have more significant dodging animations, but we also don't know their heights to proportion them from. Everything is a guess in this situation.
