unless explicitly stated, no, adding more story into a different medium doesn't mean it is in the original story without actual confirmation, if the author treats this different medium as the same story of the manga with added stuff, then i do think the "filler" should be canon, if not, i'm pretty sure we don't consider author help as enough for it
