Festival Plaza. Pokemon massive multiverse + Question

https://youtu.be/MLl2yCZ1SQ0 (min 0:52)

"We're holding a festival where trainers can interact right now"

These "coaches" are not about an avatar of the characters present in the games, but about our "I" from other video games! You can see this in the tutorial where they teach us to interact with them.

But is it really canonical?

if we do not consider the word of Scophocles as a canon, we also have the team rocket (USUM) event:

In addition, access to the festival place is carried out with rotom pokedex rising to the top screen. Could this be a test of the virtual world that Porygon was talking about?

Now, a question:

[Spoiler alert]

As we saw in the Sword / Shield pokemon trailers, the online will become a kind of MMO where all the players will be in the same place, can this be a counter-feat that each game forms a timeline? Obviously speaking from the information we now have
