The book is supposed to be one of six artifacts created from a demon, originally it is was from Medea but shit changed between versions so many times.

Ah, if I had a nickel for every time a Сhinese gacha game that I had great hopes for retcons its lore into a pile of smoking shit... I would have two nickels. Not much, but having more is not exactly the type of jackpot I would like to hit either.
