Explosive boy vs Ape man

Goku probably has an advantage in lifting strength;

Bakugou has a calculation of 8.12 tones while Goku scales well above 3.72 tones, the AP difference is x2.18, but I suppose the difference is less than 2x across the scale.

Bakugo's range description is confusing. How high is his range here? Tens of meters? Is that via pure AoE or can he also fire concentrated blasts on that range?

Pretty sure tens of meters is via ap shot only but I don't know much about my hero

Sounds like Goku has solid chances at range then, especially with his stick.
While Bakugo is stronger close up, young Goku is smart enough to take action against that.

So, it's pretty close, but I guess monkey boy takes it.

Alright, let me pull out the advantages and disadvantages sheet:

Son Goku:
  • Likely Combat Intelligence: While Bakugo is still Gifted in combat, it is notable that his weaknesses (specifically "Dynamight has a short temper and is rather arrogant, causing him to forget the task at hand in favor of blowing up whatever agitated him. ") combined with Goku's airheadedness and how small he is may cause Bakugo to become agitated quickly.
  • Possible LS: While Bakugo's statistics are widely unknown, he likely compares to Deku at 0-8% physically, meaning that he's nowhere above Class 50, causing Goku to have a possible LS advantage.
  • Afterimage Creation: Can use this as a tool combined with his Combat Intellect.
  • Resistance to Heat: Can take the heat of Bakugo's explosions easily
  • Range: Goku is able to shoot ki blasts from Hundreds of Meters away while Bakugo's AP shot is able to be shot Tens of Meters.
  • Techniques: The Solar Flare can be used to blind Bakugo (which he copied in his match against Tien therefore it's usable), Crazy Fist which can be used to catch Bakugo off guard, and Eight Arm Fist to name a few of the most notable. And the Kamehameha.
Bakugo:
  • AP: (2.18x)
  • Flight: Without the Flying Nimbus, Goku cannot fly in the 22nd Budokai.
  • Techniques: Bakugo also has several techniques to fight against Goku, including his AP Shot and AP Auto-Cannon (which is an auto fire ap shot), Howitzer Impact, Bakugo's finishing attack like the Kamehameha for Goku, Stun Grenade, which is an attack that mimics the effects of an actual stun grenade.
Canceled Out Edges:
  • Stat Amp: Both Saiyan's and Bakugo's exposions have this passively.
  • Acrobatics: Both have pretty good acrobatics at this point
  • Hand-to-Hand Combat: While Goku is likely superior in terms of hand to hand combat, Bakugo can creatively use his explosions to gain the upperhand in hand to hand combat, making this able to go either way.

The later we get in the series, the less Bakugo's short temper and arrogance are a major weakness. Hell, the arc this key comes from has a scene where Bakugo wins a fight because an opponent assumes they can use his temper against him and underestimates his willingness to cooperate with his teammates. The only character that can consistently make Bakugo lose his shit is Deku and even that's waning.

Yes, but keep in mind this is a at tallest 5'1 (scaling to the tallest Krillin ever in DBZ's Buu Saga) Goku who is completely airheaded and pure of heart, which I feel is the prime target to make Bakugo mad for not giving him any attention.

The primary reason Deku get's under Bakugo's skin is because of their shared past in addition to Deku's goodboy nature, and like I said even that animosity is waning in recent arcs.

Yes, but again, imagine a 5'1 Airhead Son Goku talking to Bakugo
Yes, that does sound incredibly annoying, but again, only Deku's shared past with Bakugo's ever really caused him to severely underestimate his opponent. Let's go back to the Sports Festival. Bakugo's was one of only a handful of characters, out of thousands, that took Uraraka seriously in his fight. Bakugo's a smart fighter and rarely let's his ego rule his decisions, especially after spending time in UA. I don't see Bakugo's arrogance being a major factor here. Not to mention Goku doesn't actively try to annoy his opponents, so I'm not really sure why this is a sticking point.

It's not, i am explaining that it is a factor however. It may make Bakugo slightly agitated, ofc not to the degree of what his weakness suggests, that'd be ludicrous.

I'd imagine Goku would have his nimbus here since its standard equipment. Goku should also have a skill advantage here, that coupled with higher LS, amps via KHH, the reactive evolution letting him adapt to Bakugo's abilities and skill, and the other advantages listed above I'm voting Goku

for Goku
Afterimages countered by Land Mine Blast
Combat intelligence countered by Bakugo's own experience. He's definitely fought people like Goku before, and he's smart enough not to get in close due to his lack of martial arts. Plus in terms of range attacks, Bakugo is superior
Resistance to heat countered by Bakugo's blasts being FAR stronger than a regular flamethrower, plus he has his own stat amps
Range countered by not realistically being that far from their opponents, plus Bakugo has dodged superior danmaku before
Techniques countered by the fact that Bakugo also has a flashbang, and can range camp him to avoid any martial arts

for Bakugo
AP countered by reactive evolution and not being far behind to begin with
range camp countered by his own range camp
mobility countered by range camp and natural agility plus bullshit dragon ball stereotypical insta teleportation that isn't teleportation

Overall, I'm voting Incon. They honestly can't do much against each othe. Goku might outlast but he's fighting someone with a decent AP advantage against him
