I was wanting to know, why was page has been protected to prevent editing? Did I add something wrong or incorrect to it? Was I doing too many edits?

Might want to add what page you're talking about and give some context. Did you make that page or are you editing an existing one?
The first and foremost reason I know of is to prevent unecessary edits, especially in the more known profiles that can get vandalized or edited without proper backing. If you made the page and are editing it, then try contacting the other staff members (green, yellow or violet. red ones don't have access to that). If you are editing an existing profile, then make a content revision for it, to have others check on what edits you are intending to do.
