Just as the title says, does Dragon Ball (Original, Z, GT, Super, Xeno/Heroes) get wanked or downplayed?

Me, I say both depending on what "wank/downplay" we're talking about

It has always dealt with a lot of both, though depends where you are and which era one lives it. I think it used to be downplayed a lot more than it was wanked, but ever since Heroes/Xenoverse became a thing, the opposite has been happening more as of late with the cults believing in the existence of 1-A Toriyama verse and the who attempts to merge all canonicities.

wank or downplay is entirely subjective, to some the verse look accurate, to other it could be either wank or downplay, you can't exactly have something perfect when it come to power scaling fiction, everything is mostly subjective

Actually, all the peoples which believe in 1-A DB is because they are not actually follow the series and believing in same fake scan spread across internet, recently there is a japanese scan about 1-A universe tree, but in reality it is a fake scan being made by a guy who know how to write some japanese language and then spread it

Yes, I am aware. But that doesn't stop people from using it. On a personal level, I have always considered downplayers of Dragon Ball to be more obnoxious than the wankers, and have always been annoyed when people bring up and/or complain about "People just wanting to upgrade their favorite verses" without also acknowledging the opposite side is also just as bad if not worse. But that still doesn't mean the people who exaggerate or spam the same scan despite knowing full well it turned out to be fake still exists.

they canonized Gregory in anime dbs yes. But in the super manga it doesn't exist, it tends to be more faithful to the original manga.

On the wiki the levels are really good, even the skills of the characters. The problem is outside the wiki, I saw a video where a guy said that the mechikabura had all the powers of fiction

There are people denying even Akira toriyama himself talking about the verse, all this to support his guesses, I've even seen people say that Dragon Ball Universes are planets and not universes, like the story of hollow planets, that's why they destroy planets, the planet is made of cardboard, among many others, we can't forget the afterlife that mentioned being Universal size, but in their minds it's just a planet
