It's actually even worse, Cell is able to destroy the solar system from earth, it's above baseline.
And yes, destroying the sun is part of the attack, in that destroying the sun is apart of the solar system. Not some chain reaction.
You're going into actual headcanon territory lad, you should stop while you're ahead before you say something and get unironically ratio'd.

The feats of the Buu arc aren't even inherently contradictory either, Buu destroyed earth, but destroying earth doesn't mean that puts a cap on his max limit. Is Frieza destroying a mountain mean he can't destroy a planet? Not really. Plus Goku and Buu ravaged a planet that dwarves stars so shrug.

I know that a solar system level character can simply destroy a planet but besides the fact that I find it improbable that Buu controls his Ki to destroy only one planet, my real problem is that Goku and Vegeta, who are much more powerful than Cell, can't counter this attack and have to run away

I don't feel like I'm in "headcanon territory" but indeed I should stop here

I don’t remember the exact circumstances, but an attack can easily be like, multi galaxy level and only destroy a planet or even just an island. It’s not about the dc, it’s about the Ap. Let’s assume for arguments sake Goku and getes are stronger then cell. Since kid buu is stronger then they are, they can’t stop his attack. Said attack has planetary dc. but the ap is vastly above what the heroes can deflect. Or maybe they were tired, idk, like I said , don’t remember the context
