Does poison counter Low-Mid regen?

A curious question I got from a versus thread, does Low Mid regen counter poison to any of your organs? Mainly a question regarding Akame who's poison strikes the heart.

I've heard from some that Regenerationn would only replace the organs if they were turned into mush, like say getting impaled, while the poison would block the veins.

Is this true?

Depends on the poison. Simple as that. And depends on the person regenerating. Low-mid regen, if fast enough, can bypass poison.

Ban from Nanatsu seems a good example of this.

Low mid regenerators that can regen heavy brain damage without much repercussion should have no problem even if the poison melts their heart (this is because their body is capable of functioning without the need for the organs). They can probably recreate a (heartless) circulation or another heart.

Weaker low-mids will probably have trouble or die.

Depends on how the poison works.

Stuff that melts the heart is more akin to acid.

Stuff that paralyzes the heart (i.e. neurotoxin) would not be affected by Regenerationn.

stopping a heart should not be a problem for s Low mid regenerator, tho.

@PaChi

Regenerationn does not save you from having your heart stop.

This is the reason why you can drown Wolverine, who would lose consciousness from lack of oxygen and eventually die despite his healing factor.

The poison kinda destroys the heart.

If I remember correctly Tatsumi survived it.

@Repp logically speaking, someone capable of Low mid regen should have another cellular structure capable of regenerating tissues without the need of oxygen, otherwise, any fatal wound in the lungs and/heart couldnt be regenerated at a faster-than-normal rate.

and thats why they wouldnt die from lack of oxygen, btw.

If i remember correctly Akame said that she locked onto Tyrant itself rather than Tatsumi.

@Gargoyle

Not by his own merits, Akame supposedly just killed the Tyrant, even though she had never done so before. Best to dismiss it as PIS.

@PaChi

Theoretically doesn't mean that's how it actually works in fiction. You can't just regenerate tissues without the need for oxygen, in order for cellular respiration (and thus cell life, division, growth, and Regenerationn) to happen, you need oxygen.

@Repp I know that. But if you can regenerate the heart instantly, you can do it without the need of oxygen because... well, there is no way for the oxygen to reach the cells regenerating. I know how cell respiration and reproduction work. But there are obviously anaerobic cells, therefore, its likely that those organisms have anaerobic structures that allow fast cell division even in an environment lacking oxygen.

@PaChi

That doesn't make any sense though. If there's no damage to the heart, there's nothing to regenerate.

The point was that the body wouldnt feel the stress of lack of oxygen the same way we humans do, becausw it has the ability to work under such circumstances.

Also, the creation of a secondary pathway is likely in such circumstances, the body would instantly adapt to the stopped heart and create a new way for it to start beating again, either by replacing the tissue or recreating the signalling pathway.

@PaChi

Even if logic dictates otherwise, we can't assume that regen would let you survive something unless it's explicitly stated.

That's only due to his metal clade skeleton weighing him down, he has regened from having his heart stopped before

I know, I know. I was just explaining how someone with low-mid regen would, logically, have no problem with having his heart stop. Fiction is another story, logic doesnt always apply.

@Peter

You can still drown Daken, Wolverine's son who has the same Regen factor as him, so no that definitely isn't a factor.
