Ditto vs FMR Dragon

There was a CRT for it, but saying his base stats are weaker than 8-A is implying that Ditto is far weaker than even weak rodent Pokemon like Bidoof.

Does the OP want the Ditto be in 8-A while being transformed into FMR Dragon?

The OP has to decide.

Looks like a stalemate to me because Ditto will just copy Dragons attack and eventaully Dragon will have nothing to do left.

Ditto is still MCB level durability / stamina so the battle would likely go to a near end when both would fatigue and Ditto would "struggle" for the win. Ditto high diff.

In-character? Because it usually transforms into whatever is in front of it, IIRC.

It doesn't really have an in-character, exept in-games where it always fights enemies presumably stronger than it.

The one where it only transformed into the Pokemon Ash was using when Ash battled Duplica, and again transformed into a book when Jessie attempted to have it transform into a Dratini from a picture within said book?

Yes. That one.

Yes, because it's trainer had it do it. Because trained pokemon do stuff that most don't. And ash's pokemon still scale above baby pokemons.

And it transforming into a book is litirally a non-factor since it did so in a non-fighting scenario, and the pokemon asked to transform into was one it likely never met.

Kind of hard to have it do anything else when it's only move is Transform.

Plus, Drake, the Supreme Gym Leader of the Orange League, also had a Ditto that transformed into Ash's Pikachu.

And Pokedex entries such as these consistently show they typically take the form of their opponents when in battle:

When it spots an enemy, its body transfigures into an almost-perfect copy of its opponent. (Yellow)

It can reconstitute its entire cellular structure to change into what it sees, but it returns to normal when it relaxes. (White 2)

That doesn't mean it can't take the form of something else, but as this Pokedex entry states:

It transforms into whatever it sees. If the thing it's transforming into isn't right in front of it, Ditto relies on its memory—so sometimes it fails. (Ultra Moon)

Exept it transforming into something so much weaker than it is not exactly justifiable by that, at all. It doesn't lack enough inteligence to know that, and it keeping itself hundreds of times weaker would be simply stupid, far more so than it is.

It's nature is literally to copy whatever is in front of it, be it weaker or not.

Heck, it will transform into Baby Pokemon like Pichu or Mime Jr., which are much lower than 8-A, just because they're in front of them.

Also, final nail in this coffin, this is listed in Ditto's profile:

"While it is stated in the Pokédex that a Pokémon can transform into any Pokémon according to its memories, it is also stated that "if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong". Unless the starter stated in the versus thread that it can transform into any Pokémon according to its memories, it should only be able to transform to any opponent or objects it can see in the battlefield."

So, since it isn't stated directly in the OP, it transforming into anything besides what it can see in front of it is not allowed.

I rest my case.
