The blood trick only works once, and that's if you're lucky (Gio did it, and failed to react in time and that was while he was in a advantageous spot).
And Diavolo himself knows about the blood trick anyway so it probably wouldn't work, Pol himself was like "well **** now he knows so that ain't gonna work again". And he has Epitaph so he'd know if someone is using it. Prior info barely helps given Diavolo will still know what Deku is gonna do and he can just work around it with zero issue due to time skip. Hell Deku probably can't even land a hit, every time he tries to attack, Diavolo is just gonna delete the moment he'd get hit, and he's almost always gonna know when that'd be due to precog.
