A thread to talk about feats, upcoming projects (of which theres a shocking amount of) and whatever else is relevant to the verse.
The reason I decided to make this thread now is because of the upcoming projects and I think it's important to have thread like this to talk about them, anywho yap away!

Great, finally a general discussion thread about Dexter. I'm starting to watch the series, and I'm at the beginning of the third season

Wouldn’t be out of question would just need to start finding feats to support that
There are really interesting hints, some of which are already in his profile, such as being a very skilled manipulator to cover his true identity from Dexter or Doakes. Additionally, it emphasizes the fact that Dexter frequently praises the works carried out by The Ice Truck Killer, whether for his methods of murder or his way of deceiving and misleading the authorities, which should provide good indications that Biney is intellectually comparable to Dexter. Another good point would be that Biney, in his identity as Rudy, seemed to perform very well as a professional doctor, something he presumably must have experience and/or prior knowledge to handle in such a way

Oh yeah I didn’t even think about the fact that he was working in a hospital likely with no real degree (so probably a Joe Goldberg situation since he stole someone’s identity) which would imply an insanely high degree of adaptability given nobody suspects he isn’t formally trained.

So yeah at the very least I could see an “At least Gifted, possibly Genius” rating for him if not just straight up Genius

Also it turns out his exact title is a “surgical specialist in prosthetic medicine“ which generally require a masters in biology, kinesiology and biomedical engineering. So either he completed these courses the second he was released from the psych ward (which would be basically impossible given his lack of prior experience/education) or he learned about it on his own after killing someone with those credentials and was so good at it that nobody noticed

Considering that he has just come out of a psychiatric hospital, the feat is probably even more impressive than it seems, as Brian must have a high capacity to process all the information and do it really well. He probably should have the characteristic of self-abduction in terms of learning and skill

Just found out that the comics are actually canon to the original book series. Yeah, we're going to get a lot more stuff for OG Dexter. Also, he's gonna beat the crap out of TV Show Dexter with all those hax.

I’m reading the rest of the books. So far it’s kinda shocking how many inhuman abilities he has

In one of these feats the Wood was weakened by the flames, so it cannot be used. And other feat is an outlier as it is usually far above the level he is at and there is no other feat at that level.

he also crushed Logan's neck, tho I don't know how much joules is that
Breaking a neck is only 152 J according to our common feats page so not even 9-C but in terms of LS, it's Class 1 which TV Show Dexter already has on his profile. Dexter currently only has baseline 9-C AP but he can potentially reach around 3000 J with blunt weapons due to having crushed someone's skull and his durability might also scale to that thanks to having taken hits from someone wielding a baseball bat.

I thought the comprehensive strength or crushing the neck was around 499.68325216 Joules

Isn't this the same blog we discussed the other day that calculated neck snapping to be above head ripping which doesn't make sense?
Yeah both those values, which were 1400-1700, were taken from Wikipedia which assumed the strength of you broke the neck in a brutal way. This value uses the comprehensive strength of bone crushing which places it at 499.683 J

I guess that could work as an upgrade to his base AP then.

Is evil considered a concept? I'm making a page for "Moloch" from the Dexter novels and I'm debating if it should get AE and Concept Manipulation

Is he like the embodiment of evil? If so then yeah, obviously. You could always post it in a CRT to see if it would be acceptable.

Something like that, I'm gonna have to skim the pages again but I vaguely remember something like that.

Also at the beginning of the 2nd novel Moloch says he "Doesn't have a physical form" so is that Nature type 1 Nonexistent Physiology? Also Dexter can actually perceive other Dark Passengers so does that mean Dexter has some kind of power null for NP Type 1?

That just sounds like Incorporeality and Extrasensory Perception to me but I know jack about high hax so...

I don't know anything about the books. Is Moloch his Dark Passenger or something?

No, Moloch is like the original Dark Passenger and he had a few cool feats that I thought could be cool for a profile. But since Moloch is a Dark Passenger Dexter's Dark Passenger should also get whatever abilities Moloch has

I find it funny that Novel Dex only ever used M99 once while his TV Show counterpart abuses the hell out of it.

Especially considering that comic was released after the show.

Although Dexter might very well use it in the later books I just haven't gotten there yet

Doesn't also Dexter believe that the ice truck killer to be just better then him, he thought that the idea of freezing the body and then slicing it up so there was no blood was brilliant and believes that he is an artist with incredible technique, with him even claiming that he exceeded his own abilities. This should make Brian at least comparable to Dexter in terms of intelligence alongside the fact that he is a skilled surgical specialist in prosthetic medicine without having studied the courses needed to (which is also very impressive).
