Splitting Gotenks' Profile
Hello, I'm back with an update and separate profile for Gotenks, which has been out of date on the wiki. Honestly, I wanted to do it at the same time as the other profiles. But since there are several things I want to discuss regarding Gotenks, especially in the DBZ Kai/Toei versions, I've decided to prioritize the Gotenks stuff.

Gotenks' Ectoplasm Manipulation?
Based on previous thread, the Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack involves the creation of ghost-like constructs formed from Ki described as “エクトプラズム状の気” (ectoplasm-shaped Ki). The word エクトプラズム (ectoplasm) is written in katakana as a direct loanword for “ectoplasm,” while 状 indicates a form or state, meaning the technique produces Ki that takes on an ectoplasmic form. Databooks and guide materials consistently describe these constructs as ghost-like energy bodies (オバケのようなエネルギー体) or “ghosts of Ki” (気のオバケ), indicating that the ghosts are manifestations of Ki shaped into ectoplasmic entities.
Because it's already on Ki Manipulation page too which I think is still too universal and here I'm taking Gotenks as an example. The ghosts created through this technique are autonomous constructs that possess their own will while still following the user's commands. They are capable of independently pursuing targets and detonating upon contact. This demonstrates that the user is not simply firing energy blasts but rather shaping and controlling Ki into independent ghost-like entities, supporting the interpretation of Ectoplasm Manipulation or Creation through Ki constructs.
Additionally, Ki itself is repeatedly treated in the series as a spiritual energy, and the manga explicitly equates “Spirit” with Ki (Chi). In the manga dialogue, Spirit Control users explain that what they call “Spirit” is what Goku refers to as “Chi/Ki,” indicating that the two terms refer to the same underlying energy. This reinforces the idea that Ki constructs can function as spiritual or ghost-like manifestations.

Furthermore, contextual dialogue in the series states that the ghosts originate from “shigo” (死後), meaning the post-mortal state or afterlife, as one of the ghosts states that it is “the place where ghosts live,” which is then clarified as the afterworld.
