So I created a thread discussing Dan Phantom getting Acausality because it fit the description. It was agreed by some that he shouldn't and a note was placed on his page.

However I disagreed but didn't have any real evidence but I'll go over said note on his page. The two reasons Dan didn't get Acausality was because 1. He didn't show true demonstration of this power and 2. Clockworks realm is immune to timeline alterations so the statement "He exists outside of time" likely means the place he is currently trapped in.

1. To start, Dan has shown true demonstration of this power. Danny literally change the future. His family and friends did not die, thus he never became Dan but Dan didn't fad from existence proving he's not effected by his past.

2. Clockworks dimension was never stated to be immune to the alterations of time. For one, he can still manipulate time their and two, his home is inside the Ghost Zone. Shown when Danny went and visited him. Their was never a statement saying the Ghost Zone is immune to time alterations.

Anyway I actually figured out why Dan really survived his passed being altered. It was because of the Time Medallion. Clockwork's Time Medallions make you immune to the effects of time. Proven when wearing them, Clockwork can't freeze them in time and they also allow someone to remain in a different timeline. Shown when they are removed, Skulktech, Box Lunch, Tucker and Sam all wear instantly returned to their timeline when the medallions were removed. Dan actually took one of these medallion which also allow you to travel to different timelines, which is how he got to the past.

Now some would say "Well Dan didn't have the time medallion when he showed up in the past". This is true and that medallion is quite large, however Dan showcased the power to fuse objects together. He fused one of Clockwork's medallions with Danny's body, thus keeping him stuck in the timeline he was in. So it's likely Dan fused his medallion into himself, which is why we didn't see it. This would make the statement that he now exists outside of time valid because as long as he has the time medallion, he is immune to time manipulation and any alterations to his past.

So Dan should actually have. Time Paradox Immunity (Dan is unaffected by changes to his past) and Resistance to Time Manipulation (Clockwork's medallion makes Dan unaffected by time) on his page.

Thoughts?.

Note: Danny doesn't scale to this since he doesn't have the time medallion inside him anymore and Clockwork was likely protecting him when he altered his past in the episode "Masters of all Time" considering he would have been instantly sent back in time for not wearing a time medallion.

I agree. The chance that he "Dan" fused the medallion with himself is plausible considering he did it to Danny. Though chances are the creator/writer Butch Hartman didn't know how to go about/known the fundamentals about making a character like this (time paradox immune, etc.). But considering how he does in fact remain unaffected when Danny changed the course of his life which should have gotten rid of Dan, and the fact that if I remember Clockwork even stated that Dan was no longer apart of the timeline, I think this could be accepted and added to Dan's page.

1. Actually, Dan was already back in Clockwork's lair when Danny changes the past. When Danny traps in Dan in the Fenton Thermance, the explosion that would've killed his family and friends still goes off but Clockwork saves them while pausing time. He then gives Danny a time medallion, explains what's going on, rewinds time back to 2 hours earlier, with time still paused. Clockwork leaves with the Thermance before time resumes. Danny then admits that he looked at the test answers and thus prevents Dan's timeline from happening. But as Clockwork says, the choice was Danny's. Danny could have just turned in a test he cheated on (stupid as that would have been).

So really, one could make the argument that the timeline didn't change until Danny admits to looking at the test answers and by that point Dan is in the lair. So, that muddies waters a little as either that timing of events or the medallion could be blamed.

2. In addition, while it's true that there is no direct statement for Clockwork's Lair existing outside, the same can be said for the time medallion. It's been shown to let you time travel, resist Clockwork's time powers and keeps you rooted when you're not in you're natural timeline. However, it's not stated that it will protect you from Time Paradoxes. In addition, when the medallion is removed, you don't always go back to your timeline. This happened for Tucker and Sam but not for Skulktech, who returned to Clockwork's lair first and then had to be sent forward in time by Clockwork himself. That shows a bit of inconsistency.

But to be fair, at the end of the day, there's a lot of inrteruptation that goes into all this and making explantions for why things turned out with all the Time Travel stuff due to the fact that Danny Phantom is not a show dedicated to Time Travel and it's issues or at least spends a good number of episodes explaining and dealing with it. We only had two occaisons "Ultimate Enemy" and "Masters of All Time" IIRC.

As such, I'll say this for Dan Phantom:

He should get the Resistance to Time Manipulation. This is something that the Time Medallion gives. Nuff said.

As for the Time Paradox Immunity...I'd say give it to him under 'Possibly'. He might have it, he might not and you could argue back and forth all day and still have valids answers on both side.

That's my humble opinion.

@TheC2

I never said he wasn't in Clockwork's dimension when the past was altered. I just said he wasn't effected by the change to his past. Unless someone can provide evidence to Clockwork's lair being immune to timeline alterations, Dan legitimately showed to be immune the changes from his past. Since the medallions make you unaffected (resistant) to time manipulation, it's easier to believe it also makes you immune to timeline alterations then making the assumption Clockwork's lair is immune to timeline alterations however this is just my opinion.

Considering Sam, Tucker, Danny are instantly brought back to their timeline, Box Lunch wasn't shown, and Skulktech is the only inconsistent one but if more agree on Possible Time Paradox Immunity then that's fine with me.

I am fine with possibly time paradox immunity.

Alright, I gave him Possible Time Paradox Immunity and Resistance to Time Manipulation and explained both, I'll close this.
