It's a pretty commonly accepted thing that this feat would be Moon level. Is this based on a calc? If so, where is the calc? Just curious.
 
Pretty sure it's just taking the energy needed to cover a specific amount of distance or something like that.
 
That doesn't make sense. The energy needed for like smoke or something to cover the surface area of the Earth, I guess, but just general "darkness" doesn't make sense.
 
It depends on the substance, obviously, but in general if it's creating smoke that is dense enough to completely cover the planet then it's probably moon level via sheer size
 
I just calc'd it with different times, results vary from 7-A to Low 5-B. Good enough.
