Finally a versus debate I can partake in.
I am going to say Soma with Mid Diff.
Dante's Regenerationn makes him hardish to kill (though not impossible, still salty about the death battle)
But Soma is for sure a Universe Buster, with Dante MAYBE being a universe buster
Plus, petrification ignores durability (said above.)
And he has a more diverse skill set I think.

If pretrification was an important factor Kratos would have defeated Dante. Devil Trigger also seems to be immune to most of the curses, I doubt petrification would be helpful.
Dante can ignore durability as long as he's with Yamato.
However ... Soma still seems to be superior, my vote goes to him.

I say Soma with increidbly high difficulty, due to the fact that Soma's feat as an 3-A seems superior to Dante's , and Soma can effectively hard counter anything Dante throws at him.

I know this is a lot to ask, but would you kindly postpone this thread for just a bit? I have extensive knowledge on both of these characters and while I agree with the statistics on their profiles, both Soma and Dante have many, many abilities that are not yet present on their pages. Furthermore, I am in the process of writing blogs that will add many abilities to both characters, and I fear it may be a point of contention to others who see this match being added shortly before such significant upgrades may be accepted.
I know having the thread closed for a little while would be an inconveinence for you, but I assure you that it would be for the best. On another note, if you enjoy either of these series, do look forward to the upgrades I hope to bring about!

Thank you so much, and I apologize for the inconvenince. I am almost done writing the DMC blogs, and I may have a blog listing all of Soma's abilities by as soon as the end of next week! I was hoping to take a little more time to upgrade Soma, but I think I'll utilize some walkthroughs, post information from them and my memory, and then replay Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow and update accordingly in order to publish it all sooner rather than later.
I do have some immediate good news: I helped out with adding Sealing to the list of Soma's abilities.

Since Freeman already done to update both page, so I dig up this match again.
BTW, this match already has 7-0 score for Soma. And the update (which just make Dante to pure 3-A and add more alibities to Soma) look like to change nothing in this match. So I can make it conclude now if I want.
but I choose to wait one more day for safe case. After one day period, if no one change the vote or have contradiction, I will make this conclude.
