That's a little vague, I think. Do you have more specifics about what it is being used to mean in that context?
Does your True Name define your characteristics? Physiology? Your personality? Your psyche? The makeup of your soul?
& the same could be asked about what life is?
Does having your True Name give someone free access to drain or manipulate your life force ("your life itself".) as they wish?

When the name is taken characters are given a new name and it basically gives them a different identity. Like one character was a vampire and had a different name and then he got his name taken and given a different one and it turned him into a werewolf with a different name and different abilities. Right now I just think it's type 3 conceptual manip due to it taking their names and giving them new ones and changing their abilities similar to what ichibei does to yhwach and making him an ant.
