Contra downgrade

The Contra marines are just athletes/peak humans with guns. It was an outlier for them to survive a planetary destruction. So I think they should be 9-A or High 8-C. They can't even survive bullets.
 
@Kuroiha The first calc there done with KE is 5-B.

Also mario can only survive two hits from fire before he dies, so 10-A mario I guess?

They are men with guns. The creator intends them to be nothing more. In Contra: Hard Corps, they couldn't even sruvive an explosion of a spaceship.

That has nothing to do with this. MANY authors/creators did not intend for their characters to become what they are now.

Especially this one.

It's the guns that are 9-A and High 8-C. They should be 10-A or a high 10-A physically, and a High 8-C or 9-A with guns.
 
So you are saying that the author intent isnt having them survive a planet level+ explosion, even though they make them survive a planetary explosion?

It's the "Heroes always win" cliche. Thats why they survived.
 
If you want to put this cliché without giving your character feats you just give the player a good reason to think they survived outside of sheer durability. That's not a valid argument to make. If a feat happened, it still happened even if it's a cliché.

I have. I've also played Destiny. Destiny is a shooter title with Law, Void, and Spatial Manipulation. It has feats ranging from 5-C to 4-B in the main game.

And you know what? I thought that was funny because my character wasn't doing that in gameplay.

Lore > Gameplay. Your character tanks 5-A energies.
 
If we're changing characters based on author intent can we please get God-Ma upgraded to tier 0?

He's intended and repeatedly stated to be "The superhero with Omnipotent powers"

Also downgrade Mario to being athletic human, he's intended to die from fire and to barely be able to jump a few times his own height.
 
Even if you read them, you visibly didn't address much of the points, instead preferring to just say that Contra is wanked or asking people if they played the game.

Steve isn't 2-C. The player is. As in, you. Because the Player is considered in the game as in the game.

Terrarian is 5-C because the Moon Lord literally moves the moon. In fact it was calc'd at 5-A but people didn't like that.

I know. I was just providing a couple examples of "video game characters".
