So, in the most recent chapter of Chainsaw Man, Yoru used her ability to transmute anything into a weapon to directly target "America's ownership of the Moon" and turn it into a homing system that controls a spear made out of the american flag that was there.

Would this classify as type 3 conceptual manipulation? Since it targeted the abstract idea of ownership

That's really weird...

Anyway, are we sure she even targeted the actual concept? You said she turned the flag into a spear. The flag marked some idea of ownership according to her, and she transmuted the flag. That doesn't sound like genuinely warping a concept.

Sounds way too flowery and nonspecific to me. I suppose weird stuff like that exists in Chainsaw Man, and devils which embody the fear of certain things already sounds pretty conceptual, so maybe. You'd have to try it out in a CRT. What did the homing system end up doing/targeting?

It locked on to Denji, the MC, whos in Japan from the Moon then proceed to continously chase and attack him like Yondu's arrow until it pierced him

This doesn't seem like concept hax since her interpretation of America's claim to the moon is literally just the flag they put on it. So it kinda ends up as "I claim the American flag on the moon as my own which symbolizes their claim over the moon therefore I claim that as well"

Yoru transforms two different things in this page:
  1. The American Flag into a Spear.
  2. The USA's claim to the moon into a homing system.
There is no question about what was transformed. The question is whether transforming a claim of ownership is a form of conceptual manipulation.

Yeah. The editor's tweet also mentions her targeting/turning the idea of ownership into the weapon. The spear was just the "ammo" for the new weapon. Guess this would end up as "possibly" concept hax at most?

Maybe limited since she needs an object with connection with the concept ? And aside from using the concept as a tool, she really didnt affect reality

Just baseline type 3, random concepts tied to a greater meaning or to a country she has control over I guess.
We will get her turning the pursuit of happiness into a passive probability manipulating cape that ALWAYS makes her go faster to signify her pursuit of war!
