In another timeline, when Mephiles tells Silver the identity of the Iblis trigger, Silver uses the time stone prototype (instead of a Chaos Emerald ) that Mephiles found in the ruins of Doctor Eggman's base. Said prototype was being developed by Eggma to undo his past defeats, but was scrapped due to Iblis destroying his base of operations along with the rest of the world. Having never time traveled or used a time stone in his life & that this was prototype, Silver accidentally ends up too far into the past. Around this time, Sonic & Tails were investigating the energy, that was detected on the Jewel Radar, that was coming from the floating island. Also around this time, Sonic was mistaken for wanting to steal the Master Emerald .
Silver ends up on Angel Island and takes in the grassy scenery & fresh air. Soon after, Knuckles the Echidna, who had just stolen the emeralds from Sonic, literally bumps into Silver with a bag full of emeralds. Silver apologizes for getting in his way, but Knuckles (fully ready to attack) questions the snow-white hedgehog. Silver explains that he's from the future and how a blue hedgehog is the reason his world is destroyed. Knuckles realizes that this traveler is another witness that claims how bad that blue hedgehog is and recognizes Silver as another ally . After explaining the current situation to Silver and how he's the guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles tosses the Chaos Emeralds into the special zone just as Sonic & Tails catch up to him.
Sonic, very annoyed right now, insults Knuckles and mocks him about how he actually thought he could get away from the world's fastest hedgehog. Silver, immediately recognizing the blue hedgehog, tells Knuckles that he can go back to guarding the emerald and that he'll handle Sonic. Knuckles makes his escape and Sonic tries to run after him, but is caught by Silver's telekinesis and thrown into a tree. Sonic tells Tails to go after the red echidna and retrieve the emeralds while he deals with Silver (man, are they gonna be disappointed). Tails rushes off after Knuckles and Silver explains to Sonic that he will bring destruction upon the world & that he must die. Sonic is very confused and calls Silver "delusional" and the fact he's helping that red echidna tells him that he's an enemy.
Silver inadvertently taps into the power of the time stone prototype which causes a rift to open up; bringing objects from different time periods into this timeline. Out of the rift comes a number of [alien-like] creatures.
A battle ensues.
