So in Civ 5 you can train XCOM squads. So does that make it fair for them to have XCOM Soldiers on their profile?

Wow there's almost no justifications at all for the XCOM soldier's stats

Considering that Civ and XCOM are two different verses, and that's likely just an easter egg/reference to XCOM, you'd need to prove that they share a canon/lore in order to scale them/add them to the profile.

Civilopedia entry: Recognizing the potential threat from Giant Death Robots, aliens, and other external threats, the XCOM Initiative was born to protect the populace from enemies known, and unknown.

XCOM and Civ are both made by Firaxis Studios also.

Again, that seems more like a reference to the game as opposed to any idea that they are connected in any way.

The games being made by the same developer means nothing.

"the XCOM Initiative was born to protect the populace from enemies known, and unknown." Literally the plot of the XCOM game.

Also, there's no canon in Civ?

It has a similar description as it's a reference to the XCOM games. There is no indication that XCOM and Civ 5 share a story.

There is a loose canon shared between the 6 Civ games and Alpha Centauri/Beyond Earth.

Not that it matters much since it's a composite profile.

All I can say is that it mentions having an organisation called XCOM that aims to protect the world from Aliens and other global threats, having weaponry and armour from the game itself (Made by XCOM). *shrugs*

An alternate universe version of XCOM may not have the same level of equitment as the actual XCOM, or in reverse the Civ XCOM may be loaded out with far more powerful gear. The fact that the Civilopedia mentions Giant Death Robots should indicate that its not the normal XCOM squad since the origins are different.

Also the XCOM soldier profile needs some more justifcations. Its prettty lack luster at the moment.

I mean, I could use the same logic to Scale The Player from Stellaris into having mid godly Regenerationn and fate manipulation

It does mention the heavy plasma and titan armour.

I get that it mentions that, but my point wasn't about the gear but the power of it. For example Superman has multiple difference incarnations that heavily range in power from High 8-C to High 1-B. The X-COM soldiers in Civ may not have the same power as the actual one. There's also the canonically different origin between the two and the fact that completely different Civilizations can create them.

I honestly would be surprised if there was a power difference given how much of a late game unit they are.

Anyway, this can be closed.
