It did not negate anything. The Locust had Yoru pinned against the wall while actively piercing her. Regardless of her regen she was still being restrained and continuously damaged, meaning she couldn't properly recover unless he was removed.

Even the direct hits just pushed him backward instead of actually harming him. He's primarily blocking because he's trying not to be flung.
