Cell is Adapted to Your Favourite Verse

If Cell from Dragonball Z was adapted into the continuity of your favourite series, what would happen?

  • What parts of his backstory changes to fit your verse's canon?
  • Who/What could be used in place of Androids 17 and 18?
  • When in the story would he pop up?
  • How does the story change due to his presence? Does he kill certain people? Does the deaths of countless civilians change the main characters' priorities?
  • Does he usurp the Big Bad and become the main villain, or is he trumped instead?
  • If a resistance is mounted against him by the main characters, what would it take to defeat him before he reaches Perfection?
  • Who would stand against him in the Cell Games? What would happen if they won/lost?
  • If he's too strong for your verse, how would it play out if he wasn't?

For example, if he's placed in Hunter x Hunter, would your premise mean something like: Cell is born as a Chimera Ant, therefore gaining Chimera Ant characteristics on top of his already canon Dragon Ball powers and statistics?
Precisely. Make him part of your verse in as many ways as you can. Sic him on Meruem and see what happens. Stuff like that.

Cell in Arknights or Star Wars could be a heavily nerfed abomination and experiment made by rhine labs or someone who made a alien or a creature gaining sentient life

Man, I was gonna say that.

Does he have to keep his canon power level? Because honestly he solos a lot of my favs.

There's your answer btw.
Hmmm,if he joins Bleach he's probably A Aizen/Syazel/Mayuri project gone wrong.
we already have Cell in Bleach his name is Ichigo LMAO.

Cell if he was in One Piece:
  • He would likely be a Cyborg/Seraphim created by Dr Vegapunk.
  • Following his principle, Cell would have the power of several different artificial Devil Fruits as well as the genetic code of being like Kaido and King much like the Seraphim.
  • With this arsenal and likely prowess to learn Haki, we'd have Black Cell. (jk)
  • His purpose would be to absorb all the other Seraphim to get their ability as well, becoming perfect.
  • The only fruit Cell wouldn't have would be the Gum-Gum Fruit as Vegapunk never got his hands on it.
I guess that would be it. We can speculate his power and speed but it's likely Perfect Cell would be the strongest in the verse.

Let's say that Cell was in Persona and made by Shuji Ikutsuki in a similar way that Dr. Gero made Cell- AKA, using gathered battle data, DNA, and Persona Attribute's of various fighter's. Why like this? Cause Persona doesn't have a lot of Capable Scientists who would be able to do smth like this and Ikutsuki has already been shown to have a ton of Projects. It's really just for convienence's sake to do it this way, especially since it would hypothetically allow for Info gathered after Ikutsuki's death, if a Computer did it for him.

- Most Likely, he would right off the bat have data from Strega and The Original SEES Member's, and potentially data from certain Anti Shadow Suppression Weapon's depending on the timeline, and maybe even Sho Minazuki. The other character's that would be incorporated into Cell would definitely depend on the point in time. I won't go over P1 and 2 stuff in any capacity since frankly I don't have knowledge on them like that.

- Likely in a similar way to how P4U has "Persona Fragment's", for the sake of this plot Cell would have characteristic's of various Persona's through this kind of a Process.

- It's possible that if Cell is made after Makoto Yuki's Inclusion into SEES, that he may have some sort of way to utilize the Wildcard or a Similar Ability; Mainly just for Plot Reason's as it would technically make him a more dangerous Foe.

- If Cell is made sometime after P3: He would likely have component's from all the afformentioned character's, as well as Makoto Yuki, Junpei Iori, Yukari Takeba, Fuuka Yamagishi (Maybe), Aigis (If he didn't already have information and Persona Data from her; Though you can't exactly get her DNA...), Potentially Ken, Potentially Koromaru, and a hard maybe on Metis (Robot, so no DNA)

- If Cell was made after the computer could gather info from the P4 Group (Most likely happening in Arena/Ultimax); Yu, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Teddie, Maybe Rise, Naoto, Tohru Adachi. In addition, it's somewhat possible that information concerning Elizabeth and Margaret might end up in him, and finally, Labrys if her data wasn't already in there.

- I don't believe there is any way for Cell to have data from the P5 Group incorporated into him, because of how distanced they are from the previous two group's, only crossing over in dream's and other weird scenario's.

- Due to Ikutsuki's particular obsession's, I believe the Arcana Shadow's would be the method's Cell could use to gain a Perfect Form. Erebus might also be a Suitable Substitute.

With this all in mind, I will give a few scenario's dependent on when Cell is made.

Scenario One: Cell is Made Early

Cell is made Early- Either before Persona 3 or in the very early stages of it. Cell would have access to The Information/DNA/Persona Abilities of Mitsuru, Akihiko, Shinjiro, Takaya, Jin, Chidori, Potentially Sho, and potentially the Battle Info and Persona Abilities of various ASSW's.

While this Cell is the Weakest of the possible variation's, he has a few things going for him. For one, this is the only timeframe where the Arcana Shadow's are around, which is good for him as it mean's it will be easiest to reach his perfection here. In addition, Shuji Ikutsuki is alive- Meaning Ikutsuki could likely help Cell. Though, knowing Ikutsuki, he likely only made Cell in order to be a easy catalyst for the Fall, which might not be aligned with Cell's own Personal Interest's Per say. Still, having a Inside man who could potentially throw SEES off for him would be beneficial.

Now, I will say this; If Cell is made before P3, and also manages to Absorb the Magician Shadow, then it's already over imo. Makoto Yuki would most likely never awaken his Persona, or at least ends up awakening it in a different situation at a later time, and from there it's hard to really gauge what SEES does, since it's literally just, Mitsuru, Akihiko, and Yukari at that point. They might bring Junpei on like in canon, but even still, Cell has a drastic headstart against all the other player's, while our titular Hero's are falling behind. If Cell can manage to keep absorbing Shadow's, not only will SEES's growth be stunted, but Cell will be able to create a gap in power that may become nigh impossible to surpass. The most likely outcome is that Cell Absorb's all the Arcana Shadow's (Minus Death), Kill's Ikutsuki and SEES easily, and is allowed to run amok as he pleases. Strega may even decide to work for him, all things considered- Or they die too.

If Cell comes into play after Makoto has awoken to his Persona though, things get interesting. We would have a sort of 3 way struggle- SEES looking to kill all the Shadow's, Cell looking to absorb them, and Strega looking to prevent both for their own reason's. I could easily see a scenario where P3 play's out in a way where SEES manages to kill some Arcana Shadow's, but Cell manages to absorb other's (for example; while SEES manages to destroy Arcana Hierophant, Cell might reach Lovers before they can. Or maybe, because SEES are so worked up over Shinji not being around, Cell reaches Strength and Fortune first, etc.). Depending on how bad the situation get's, SEES might recruit people like Shinjiro a little earlier than in Canon proper due to the threat.

In his Freetime, Cell may even remain in Tartarus himself, training and growing stronger; if He encountered Fuuka while she was in tartarus, that could spell Disaster for SEES, but that seems like a specific situation. If that happen's though, SEES may eventually fall behind.

It may eventually play out where Cell has absorbed a fair number of Arcana Shadow's, as many as he can, and then decide's to host his Cell Game's during the Dark Hour/In Tartarus. Strega almost definitely wouldn't want to get directly involved at that point- As for SEES, I could see them taking Cell on in a final bout of sorts. Cell would be fairly strong, but Persona Character's are known for getting strong quick themselves- Eventually it would culminate in SEES sending in Makoto Yuki to battle Cell directly.

A fairly interesting comparison could be made- How Cell has a Reason to Live that's sort of Programmed into his being, while Makoto found a Reason to live for other's, or smth. Either way, due to Makoto Yuki's Wildcard and his ability to use Fusion Spell's, among other things, I can see him killing Cell. P3 would likely play out similarly as usual afterwards, though maybe with one or two changes on who's alive or dead.

If, somehow, SEES manages to kill all the Shadow's before Cell could even absorb them, he would likely initially become Manic and rageful at the fact that he couldn't absorb any of them; He would still train and grow stronger, but until the arrival of Ryoji Mochizuki, aka Arcana Death, Cell would be much worse off.

Once Ryoji is on the scene though, it's possible Cell will go after him and try to absorb him. I see one of 2 things happening from here.

1, Cell Manages to Catch Ryoji off guard and Absorb him. From there, he would likely become the final boss- Gaining a drastically noticable increase in power from absorbing, well, Death- And not to mention Ryoji being Nyx's Avatar. A Endgame SEES might still be able to beat him, but it would be difficult.

2, Cell fail's. Ryoji becomes the Nyx Avatar and the events of the final gameplay day of P3 Occur. Cell may still appear, desiring to attempt to absorb Ryoji, which may lead to a fight with him prior, maybe right before the Strega Fight's. I don't see Cell teaming with anyone though.

One interesting note is that Ikutsuki might attempt to get Cell to help him on the night he plans on Executing SEES, but Cell may very well just let him die tbh.

Scenario Two: Cell is made Post Persona 3

Cell is made after Nyx is defeated. He would have access to the aforementioned info, in addition to info from the rest of SEES's member's.

Cell would have more power and information, but he wouldn't have access to the Arcana Shadow's anymore. For the sake of the arguement, Erebus can make a suitable replacement for whatever reason.

Cell would likely be immensely distraught over not having the opportunity to become Perfect, but if this occur's during The Answer, then Cell may have a shot (Though he wouldn't have access to info on Metis). If he can somehow become involved in those events and follow SEES closely. It would likely result in Erebus appearing and Cell trying to take a massive gamble. He either fails, which... Leads to nothing, or succeed's.

If he did Succeed, and attained Perfection or a similar enough form, it would just be SEES vs Cell again but with Aigis being the MVP. Maybe a correlation can be made between the two's Purposes's and Personal Reason's for living, since both were artificially made, but that's beside's the point.

Now, if he was involved in Persona 4, that could be interesting. Most likely, when Cell initially is made and catches up on the situation, he follow's Sho Minazuki to Inaba. Seeing the events involving Yu and Co and the God's they face, Cell may hatch a bizzare plan of trying to absorb some of these Godly beings. It wouldn't let him reach perfection, but it would make him much stronger.

In the meantime, he might also become a smalltime Myth in Inaba, absorbing random people like Cell does in DBZ. It could be a unique situation, though I frankly see the IT defeating Cell before much of anything happen's; unlike P3 Cell is missing chances to get significantly stronger with little contest.

If Cell get's involved in the P4 Arena or Ultimax events instead, he likely pursue's a way to find a replacement for the Arcana Shadow's or just powerful people to absorb, but he eventually runs into Yu, Labrys, Aigis, Adachi, Sho, or someone else and get's put down/defeated.

Scenario Three: Cell is made after P4/P4U

Cell is made after Sho Minazuki and Kagutsuchi are dealt with. He has all the abilities afforementioned, the IT's DNA and Abilities, Adachi's, Elizabeth and Margaret's, and he has Labrys's Data.

In this scenario, Cell has his strongest base power, but no option's; The most likely scenario is that he search's far and wide for something- Anything- And kill's people along the way. The Shadow Operative's find him, and eliminate him.

Tbh, the issue with cell as I wrote him here, after the events of Persona 3, there isn't much for him to do. The events of all the other games tend to be too different, and unlike P3 it's hard to believe he can do anything before the Main Team can. He can't even get involved in P5 without insane luck either, so I won't even go over that. Then again, there could be other way's to incorporate him that lead to different outcome's- That's how this works, I suppose. I just got bored and decided to type this up... Oh- And this is in no way a accurate reflection of Persona Powerscaling. This is more reliant on Narrative ig.

Cool concept.
In Granblue he could be one of the Jorha experiments to resist the Astrals. The android 18 and 17 would be In Close proximity to him though idk if they would even become a character due to how ruthless and inhumane Jorha organization is. But seeing how most Jorha lab gets destroyed by one of their Creation Cell could be the one to do it.

Since Jorha mostly does superhuman experimentations. Cell could be be amalgamation or a entity derived from a monsters that absorbs other and in turn could evolve. He would likely massacre people and would become a prime target for enforcers. He could also probably become a leader of his own group just like the Goblin Queen and Goblin King and would probably go hunt down laboratories to absorb more and more of their creations until he becomes a big of a threat that story revolves around subjugating him.

Absorbing creation of Jorha would yield the following abilities

Supernatural willpower
Adaptation
Cursed Blade amp
Instinctive reaction
Possibly reactive Evolution
Adaptation
Regeneration at best High to low godly
Possibly even become a primal or have power from remnants of failed primal beast.

I think he would be close to the primal beast socialis that turned someone into a human hybrid with the full power of a primal.

As for potential threat he will encounter
If he grew strong Eatha of eternals would undoubtedly seek to fight him.
The eternals might step in too.

Alright, i can screw with this.

If he was adapted for Touhou, he might end up as someone Yukari threw into Gensokyo to be turned into youkai food,, but started to adapt to everything and ended up becoming a decently powerful youkai of adapting. Hence gaining the good and bad of being a youkai

However
Since hes off being a menace to society, Reimu and the other incident solvers would most likely be sent to hunt him down- and thats where his story may end
Anyways yeh

For Final Fantasy 7 I can picture him totally being a jenova experiment lol
Lol, totally the kind of stunt Hojo would pull "fOr SciEncE".

Okay, let me give it a shot:

  • What parts of his backstory changes to fit your verse's canon?
The Jenova project would be even more branched (to be fair they already retconned it in Crisis Core, so Sephiroth being the sole subject is already lost). Instead of an infant with cells from Jenova it would be an artificial lifeform created directly with Jenova's cells, trying to emulate her capabilities directly instead of passing them on to a new life form. This gives Cell an arsenal of psychic abilities such as Telekinesis, Telepathy, Mind Control, Illusions, Perception Manipulation, Shapeshifting, Body Control, etc. All of Jenova's weird abilities. Instead of using data from martial artists, Hojo, Shinra's lead scientist in bioweapon development, would instead use data and DNA from SOLDIER and the Turks, leading to Cell actually using weapons instead of his bare fists.

Despite his power and potential for growth, Cell was never used by Shinra, as Sephiroth filled the same role as the best attack dog for the company with the added bonus that he could be used as a propaganda piece for them thanks to his charisma and image.

Cell also instead of being arrogant and sure of himself, he has a major beef with Sephiroth on who's the real masterpiece of Professor Hojo.
  • Who/What could be used in place of Androids 17 and 18?
Instead of consuming special people, Cell would need to consume Jenova's DNA to reach further completion. So by eating the Jenova fragments the party fights as bosses he would become more complete each time.
  • When in the story would he pop up?
He would be first mentioned as early as the raid on the Shinra HQ in the Midgar version of the game, and when Sephiroth kills the personnel at the upper floors he would break free and escape to unknown places, starting his assault on settlements to absorb people for their life force. He then shows up each time the party fights a Jenova fragment to devour the remains (except when Aerith dies to not ruin the mood of the moment).
  • How does the story change due to his presence? Does he kill certain people? Does the deaths of countless civilians change the main characters' priorities?
His mass murders create split priorities for the party, they want to stop his attacks, but Cloud is obsessed with chasing down Sephiroth, creating friction and eventually to split into groups chasing both trails. Cell himself would fight the party to test himself but otherwise stay hidden. He also would kill a couple of Weapons single handedly just to test his own strength.
  • Does he usurp the Big Bad and become the main villain, or is he trumped instead?
He actually would help Sephiroth with his plans of Godhood so he can fight him as the godlike being he aspires to be and show Sephy he's the stronger creation of Hojo.
  • If a resistance is mounted against him by the main characters, what would it take to defeat him before he reaches Perfection?
They wouldn't be able to stop him, between having to track down Sephiroth and Cell playing it smart like he did in the earlier parts of the Cell Saga.
  • Who would stand against him in the Cell Games? What would happen if they won/lost?
There would be no cell Games as the final Jenova fragment, SYNTHESIS, appears way too late in the story, but after they defeat her, Cell would consume her and become Super Perfect. Then he would challenge the party to a fight and whoever wins goes after Sephiroth. He explains his motives, that he doesn't care about the Planet or doesn't want to be hero, he just wants to prove he's Hojo's masterpiece and will think later of what to do with himself once he kills Sephiroth. Cloud can kind of relate to that lack of porpuse and living under Sephiroth's shadow so he fights him in a 1 on 1. Once he is defeated Cell is bewildered that he lost despite being perfect, Cloud tells him about how he accepted himself and stopped simply measuring himself to Sephiroth or others, but Cell just tells him off mistaking this bit of sympathy with condescension.

  • If he's too strong for your verse, how would it play out if he wasn't?
A variant on this. Bad ending: If you lose the 1 on 1 with him and Cloud, he dismisses Cloud's words and goes on a rant on how power is the only thing that truly matters and a nobody whose greatest achievement was a stolen identity has no right to talk high and mighty to him. After this Cell's power keeps growing thanks to Jenova's evolutionary powers and his own Super Perfect Form and he engages the whole party at once, with the twist that you play as an overpowered Cell to kill the heroes.

After defeating them he goes to confront Sephiroth, who remains silent through the entire ordeal, despite Cell's constant taunting (reflecting Sephy's actual silent demeanor in the original game). When Cell destroys Safer Sephiroth, pretty much taking all his attacks head on, Sephiroth stoicism finally cracks and shows visible anger and disbelief. Cell then mocks Sephiroth as a weak lost child, someone who was used by their father Hojo and Shinra as their little dog and then a needy little boy clinging to Jenova, whose idea of godhood was just a fantasy to prove he had a strength that was never there, unlike Cell's who demostrated who was truly the masterpiece of the Jenova Project, because he never cared about anything but being the strongest, he was truly the ultimate life form, he was perfect, beyond Jenova, beyond Shinra, beyond Sephiroth.

Cell then kills Sephiroth and absorbs him as well, attaining a much higher power yet and then just to spite Sephiroth even more, he annihilates Meteor with a Kamehameha and decides to lay waste to the life on the Planet with his own two hands. After doing so, having slaughtered all life on the world and stolen their spiritual energy, just like Sephiroth planned, Cell with power beyond recognition decides to take off to outer space to look for new planets to test his strength and destroy to prove he was absolute.

Eeeeeeh, well I tried =P

Any opinion on adding a custom "bad ending?" Where if you lose the 1 v 1 vs cell we get treated to cell defeating sephiroth?
Mostly so we can have the irony of "no matter who wins, sephiroth is destined to lose".

What weapons would he use?
Was thinking of the usual FF staples, longswords, axes, spears, replace bows and arrows with firearms due to VII's more cyberpunk setting. The spin is that Cell would make his weapons out of his own body giving them an organic design and would not stick to just one. And in the case of firearms these would shoot Spiritual Energy/Mako (FFVII's equivalent of Ki) instead of bullets or explosives.

Would seem odd after so many years of Cell being portrayed as a barehanded martial artist, but given almost everyone in FFVII uses weapons save very few monk like characters, it would make sense for Cell having the DNA of Shinra's greatest fighters would be a weapons expert.

Thinking for Bleach,i cosidered the 4 main "scientists" in Bleach and realized there is likely only 1 candidate to create Cell(it's not who you expect).(massive bleach spoilers ahead)
Aizen is out,and Syazel by proxy, since Aizen would want to reach that perfection himself instead of creating a being to do it.
Mayuri is out,he has the Nemuri project, plus he dislikes the concept of perfection.
Kisuke however, would likely be willing to create a rare "good" Cell, who's task is probably to defeat Aizen and any threats to the Balance.
It's likely that instead of using Rukia for his bungled get rid of the Hogyoku plan,he instead gives it to Cell and uses Rukia as bait to make Aizen reveal himself(in order to keep the moral greyness of Kisuke).
Cell's task is to take both kisuke's and Aizen's Hogyoku, defeat Aizen and then just be Kisuke's insurance against big threats on the Balance(it's likely Cell will be programmed to have zero interest in doing anything with the Soul King).
Rare world were Cell is kind of a "good guy" (in reality he's just Kisuke's attack and guard dog, meant to be his answer to God tier opponents).
I suppose in CFYOW he dunks on Hikone instead of Kenpachi, and he's there to fight Yhwach instead of Aizen in the finale since he likely took away Aizen's Hogyoku.

For Undead Unluck

  • What parts of his backstory changes to fit your verse's canon?
Basically his entire backstory changes, he's now not created by Gero, but by Sun (God). His purpose would be to cause life to be worse for humans but also since his names Cell, he'd be Uma Cell.

  • Who/What could be used in place of Androids 17 and 18?
They'd be replaced with Umas similar but not exact to Cell, likely Uma Structure or Uma Prison, they'd really advance his abilities making him go from phase 1 to phase 2 and then 3 like he does in dbz with them.

  • When in the story would he pop up?
He'd probably have popped up around or just before Seal did (villain) posing a threat to the Union after they fail to stop him from absorbing Uma structure and Uma prison.

  • How does the story change due to his presence? Does he kill certain people? Does the deaths of countless civilians change the main characters' priorities?
His presence won't change much since he'd be just another Uma but he'd be a main threat given his personality. He becomes a priority like most hostile Umas are, but given how haxxed the Union are they'd probably still end up winning with him killing two or four of them, maybe Phil, Top, and Shen.

  • Does he usurp the Big Bad and become the main villain, or is he trumped instead?
Big Bad made him and would kill him if he tried. Even the side villains would kill him for trying it lmao.

  • If a resistance is mounted against him by the main characters, what would it take to defeat him before he reaches Perfection?
He'd likely reach it, but if not then it would really take just Juiz, Nico, Andy and Fuuko to stop him. Nico would create something to prevent him from absorbing other Umas, Juiz would stop him completely really, Andy just can't die so he'd probably be a good staller.

  • Who would stand against him in the Cell Games? What would happen if they won/lost?
Shen, Andy, Feng, Juiz, Seal and maybe Seal. If they win then nothing happens, they just go bout their day but if Shen loses its whatever, if Andy loses its whatever he just won't die, Juiz loses the Union falls apart, Seal loses then nothing much happens really.

  • If he's too strong for your verse, how would it play out if he wasn't?
Either way it kinda plays out the same way, he's not a threat to the extent other Umas are like the Master Rules.

Madness Combat. because im so silly!
  • What parts of his backstory changes to fit your verse's canon?
Cell likely is either changed to be a creation of The Machine, or he's an artificial Nevadean created by Project Nexus, as a hellish soldier for Director Phboos
  • Who/What could be used in place of Androids 17 and 18?
I don't know who they are or their relevance to cell.
  • When in the story would he pop up?
Likely during the events of Project Nexus Classic/Madness Combat 6-8. due to the series mostly being "VIOLENCE MURDER BLOODSHEED!" he could pop his head in at anytime and it'd basically make sense as long as it was after Madness 3.
  • How does the story change due to his presence? Does he kill certain people? Does the deaths of countless civilians change the main characters' priorities?
Nope lol. The story is pretty much unhinged mayhem and murder, so he'd fit right into the narrative. The only person that could possibly bother is Jebus, who would probably hunt him down and kill him.

otherwise, people like hank, Deimos, and Sanford wouldn't give a ****, and would probably add onto the body count for the fun of it.
  • Does he usurp the Big Bad and become the main villain, or is he trumped instead?
Nope. he could try all he wants, but if he tried to fight The Auditor, or even worse The Machine or The Maker, he'd be given a unfortunate slap across the face.
  • If a resistance is mounted against him by the main characters, what would it take to defeat him before he reaches Perfection?
Not a lot, honestly. they could very easily kill him by either weaponizing Tricky, The Auditor, or Gestalt and kill him very handily considering all those characters could very easily wipe him off the face of the planet if they felt the need to.
  • Who would stand against him in the Cell Games? What would happen if they won/lost?
Tricky, unfortunate for him. Tricky is known to be addicted to shit like that, and would 100% take the opportunity to join in and throw hands.

Unfortunately, if it's his most modern version, aka, his Auditor version, he would pretty easily hand an L to Cell.
  • If he's too strong for your verse, how would it play out if he wasn't?
Jesus would likely hunt Cell down to kill him, either due to his affiliation with Phobos or The Machine (and probably the hundreds upon thousands he would kill during his time there)

Who knows if he'd be successful? knowing how ****** up that guy can be, chances are he'd be able to take him down.

Two individuals Cell needs to absorb to reach his perfect form
Oh.

WELL IN THAT CASE GENTLEMEN

We are replacing those two not with characters, but with places. funnily enough this same exact plot line with Project: Gestalt, who needed to absorb The Other Place to allow Phobos to achieve godhood.

so, obviously, we are replacing those two with The Other Place, and The Employer's personal hells. obviously he'd be altered to be able to eventually absorb entire dimensions but ya know. by Absorbing them, Cell would become perfect, achieving godhood just as Phobos would have wanted.
