Thanos is known only from a single vertebrae, so it's really hard to make a case in its favor. All it would really have going for it is its meme reputation back in like 2019/2020 or something. An artistic rendition shows Thanos having osteoderms, but it's pure speculation and even then, crocodiles and ankylosaurs have better osteoderms than that. If anything, a saltwater crocodile has a better chance at Carnotaurus than Thanos over here.

Carnotaurus has better data and from what I can tell, Carnotaurus had rigid headplating. Artistic renditions seem to disagree on whether the creature had dorsal spikes or not. From the shape of its head and how its jaws worked, one can infer that the Carnotaurus whacked its foes with its upper jaw like a serrated club or an axe, which would in turn allow Carnotaurus to slice into Thanos' skin.

Overall, I gotta give it to Carnotaurus as it's strategy is more well-known and perhaps more viable than what little information we have on Thanos.
