Okay, so we had Mario and Luigi getting pitted against one another. Now, how about their adversaries: Bowser and King Boo? I checked to make sure there was a thread and... Well, the only thread concerning the debate is a thread so old it's very outdated under current Mario universe standards.
Arguably King Boo is the bigger threat of the two adversaries, as while Bowser had to specifically target Mario and Luigi just to get an upper hand on them as noted in "Mario is Missing" and "Super Princess Peach," King Boo very easily handled Mario and the gang in Luigi's Mansion 3, only sparing Luigi so he can kill him in his own hands. Bowser has better sealing than King Boo based on his profile, but given King Boo had kept his eye on the Mario Bros prior to the events of the Luigi's Mansion subseries and he had previously escaped being sealed in a painting of both him AND Bowser on his own, there's no shot King Boo doesn't know what's up. That's not mentioning while Bowser usually needs prep time in order to enact his plans, everything associated with King Boo is his own doing, including the creation of a duplicate Bowser. That's not mentioning Bowser usually needs weapons, technology (ex. the Galactic Reactor), or macguffins (ex. the Dream Stone) to get into higher tiers while all King Boo needs to do to destroy the entire mainline universe is to complete a ritual. And unlike with Cursa, I'm not sure whether Rosalina, who is essentially the premier space god of the Mario universe, would've been able to handle King Boo at his peak or not, let alone Bowser.
In regards to their character... Bowser is largely affable, as despite his anger issues, Mario and the gang are still willing to invite him to sporting events, and Bowser Jr. sought Mario's help to deal with Fury Bowser when Bowser wasn't in control of his mind. King Boo? In terms of character, if Bowser were the average human with temper issues, THIS would be King Boo:
I say that because King Boo went out of his way to trap anyone remotely associated with Luigi just so he can kill him uninterrupted, and believe me, Bowser would not have been an exception if he were there with the gang too.
For this one, this match-up would be 6-C Bowser vs 6-C King Boo (or whatever tier the wiki wants the Mario characters to be; they can't seem to agree on that), as anything else would've led to a stomp AP or otherwise regardless of the arrangement of the tiers. Anything else is SBA.
